I have seen this so much as of late, since the ending of Ricky's suspension. So many people on here think Ricky will give Ronnie breaks, and linehan will still open up the passing game.

ARE YOU NUTS?!?!

Ricky Williams would start over 27 of the starting RB in the league. Ronnie brown could start at running back in over 1/2 the league. These are boths starters as Saban has all ready said.

Why do so many think that Ricky will be backing up Ronnie? They will both have many plays and gameplans made just for them. They will compliment each other not replace each other.

So please give me a reason as to why you think one will back up the other with one having 7 - 10 touches and the other 15 - 20+ touches?

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not a ronnie basher I love the guy great pic and player for a very long time for the fins.

I'm not a Ricky defender either, he was one of the best in the league for a few seasons and after seeing him in pre-season he hasn't lost a thing.

Because it's Ricky's first game back and he's probably not ready to share the load.

That was too easy.

Ricky of 2003 was better hten 27 other RBs, i am so sick of people thinking ricky is going to just walk right in and rush for 1800 yards again, its not oigng to happen, he is better hten aobut 2/5's of the starting RBs thats it.

Ricky hasn't played in a real game for a year and a half. We'll have to bring him in slowly with 8-10 carries until we can build him up to around 20.

Ricky is Ricky. I don't care wht anyone says you don't have to relearn being a taleneted running back. You are what you are and Ricky is one of the top RB's in the NFL. He may not start like a gangbuster this week but I attribute that to the tough Bucs defense 100% and to him 0%.

My personal example of what i'm talking about is water Skiing. I did it very well when I was younger, in better shape and did it often. Now I'm out of shape and do it about once a year and although I have no endurance, I can still ski very well for a much shorter period of time. Ricky is still in great shape unlike me and he looked darn good in preseason. I think he is going to surprise us.

There's no way to know if he is still the same player. If he is then yes he will be taking more and more reps away from Ronnie. Wicky of 2003 was one hell of a HB!

Well... it is Rickys first game back of tru full speed (preseason isnt tru full speed).

But, once he is ready, we should use them alot like Ronnie and Caddy were used. Just substitute R.Williams for C.Williams. Ricky plays the role of the quick pure runner with amazing vision and great cutting and use Ronnie in the same role he was used in college (shifting all over the field). Ronnie should be used to this and actually should be able to make a quicker impact in the league since he is more comfortable in that role than being used as a "feature" back.

IMO this is how they should be used...

What I have said is that RW will be required to earn his way back into the lineup. If the carries are going to RB, and he is getting the kind of room he's had the last two games, RW will not get very many carries...Besides that, he will have to crescendo up his workload as he gets his football legs back. If you think that RW can come in here and carry the ball 20-25 times and not be affected physically, you are wrong...Brown will get the bulk of the carries until RW gets back all the way. With RB, they don't have to work RW in as quickly anyways. Remember he hasn't carried the rock in a real game in about 20 months or so...Once RW is physically ready, anything goes from there...they could be used together, they could split carries (10-15 for each), RW or RB could be catching dump-offs and screens, RB could be split out as the slot reciever, he could play the role of the traditional FB, or could be used by Linehan as an H-back (like they used M. Moore in Minny)...But the bottom line is that RW will have to first work his way physically back into the lineup as well as earn his carries from a production standpoint...

I already said all that. ;)

so, if stop riding your bike for 1.5 years, do you all of a sudden fall off of it when you get back on. No, you pick it right up.

Do you get better at it by riding again for 8 - 10 min. per week, or if you ride your bike all day for one dayper week?

He will come back very strong this game, he may take a quarter or two to get the feel for it again, but if Saban gives him enough reps in practice this week, and gives him enough carries during the game, by the middle of the third quarter I promise you will start to see the ricky of old, and feel kinda silly for thinking he is going to need 3 or 4 games to get his game back.

If he gets 18 carries he will hit 100 yards.
If Ronnie gets 18 carries he will likely get 100 yards if we don't telegraph our runs and are playing a close game.
