Ricky Hearing Set

The difference between the Sanders and Williams situations as I understand it is that we are talking solely about incentive money and not signing bonus money in Ricky's case. He surpassed triggers in his deal that meant more money was payable to him. Is the provision in the contract that provides for repayment of that money enforceable? That is the question I would have to assume that all of this turns on, which would mean fatherhood has nothing to do with it.
 
Spielman said that they would use some of that money to install a "Bubble" on the practice facility so that they could continue practicing in bad weather conditions.

Of course he was joking, but I'd like to see it happen. We could even name the bubble after Ricky.
 
Would the Dolphins still have the rights to Rickys contract if he paid them back? It would be nice to get some picks for him too.

Can somebody tell me how to change my sign on name if possible? I'm sick of the daily reminder of him....bad karma.
 
Wayne has to feel ripped off. If you gave someone a huge signing bonus and incentive clauses and they turned around and walked away you would want your money back as well. Especially when Rickey has been quoted as to saying that he wants to come back to football but not in MIami. Did anyone see Eric Allen and Mike Ditka go off about Rickey the other day on ESPN?

I'm pretty sure they would still own his rights. Unless the arbitrator allowed him out of the contract. The NFL has rules about players retiring and then deciding to come back. That's why Barry couldn't come back to play for anyone but the Lions, and why Deion couldn't go to the Raiders 2 years ago.
 
biggest thing that pissed me off about this whole thing is how Ricky is claiming Miami is trying to steal money from his kids. IDIOT...if you wanted to ensure your kids monetary future then you wouldnt have quit and been smoking pot...yeah Great role model for you kids...kids when life gets tough just quit and smoke a joint.

Sure hope they stick it too him. It would be a great month if gordon plays well and wicky gets billed.
 
Also, I think Ricky's "I'm a father, don't go after my kids" defense is lame and hypocritical. How many fathers & families of the Dolphins organization are going to suffer because of his lifestyle choice? Coaches, players, and all others working for the Fins in any capacity are affected by this. Recoup those financial losses and you can complain about Wayne coming after you.
