Ricky Interview

well,if he can put his past troubles behind him, move on,and contribute on the field, then i hope he does good things for us like he did a few years back when we first got him.

Well after reading in print that Parcells once cut a player for saying his hamstring was sore and cutting another for sleeping after a hard workout I found this quote very suprising.

“He’s really different than I expected,” Williams told The Statesman. “It seems to me his greatest joy is developing true friendships with his players, being a mentor and trying to help people, not just in football but in life.”

parcells probably just knows that he has something in ricky and doesnt want him to pack up shop again. cant really beat the quality theyll be getting from ricky for the price theyre paying... even at 31. Not to mention, rickys football knowledge will be quite beneficial in mentoring the young guys.

He says that he recently has become concerned about his legacy, something that didn't register with him for years despite constant lecturing from his agent, Leigh Steinberg, for 10 years.

"I never understood what he was talking about," Williams said. "One day, it just clicked."

Williams says his legacy "is still a work in progress. It's taken a lot of twists and turns." But now he says he's grown to accept his football legacy and the responsibility that comes with it.

"I never wrestled if whether I liked football. I wrestled with the fact that I'm more than just a football player," he said. "One of the things I was always afraid of was that people would only see me as being a football player."

If Ricky had not had all the problems he has had, he would probably have been considered one of the best running backs of all time. Of course he brought it all on himself. I still love what this guy is capable of. I can't wait to watch him run behind that o line this year.

Lets all hope for Ricky and the Dolphins sake that he indeed has changed for the better.

I remember after Brian Cox left us, he played for Parcells for a while.

I thought at the time there is NO way they are going to get along, and they got along great on & off the field. I think the number one thing with the Tuna is that his players have football as their number one priority.
