Ricky just shows that athletes can get away with anything

he said he didn't have the passion for football. he tried numerous times to fight the dolphins about the $8.6 million he owed them. now he all of a sudden wants to play again?! give me a break. he only wants to play again to pay back the money he owes us. otherwise why the hell would he have fought it in court/through arbitrators, etc? now that he realizes he will have to pay the money back (and is in a bigger hole now that he owes child support to the 4 mothers of his 4 different kids) he wants to play again. i just can't believe the number of chances you give, and things you will let ricky do to this team. why screw up what saban is working to rebuild? the last thing we need is a distraction, etc. maybe he deserves another chance, but sure as hell not with the team he completely screwed over time and time again (this would be the dolphins, for those of you who are blind to the facts).
He did NOT completely screw over the team time and time again, he did it ONE time. A big mistake and a tough blow but, never the less, it was ONE time.

Now, one question, do you work because you love your job or do you work because you need money to pay bills?

Let's put this Ricky issue in another perspective.

Say your son was the number two RB for his high school team. We'll call him "Ronnie". By the way, Ronnie is a model student, extremely talented and is a team player.

The school's number one RB, we'll call him "Ricky" walked out just prior to the first game of the season and said that he wanted to smoke pot and had no desire to play for such an awful coach and team. By the way, Ricky has had issues in the past and no one was surprised when he walked out. He's also a known drug user.

Would you honestly be ok with the school's coach if he decided to allow Ricky back on the team and played him over your son Ronnie????

I'll answer that question for you.......NO WAY! You guys would be up in arms and rightfully so! If your son's high school coach made this decision, you guys would be screaming for his head on a silver platter..

This will be a major mistake by Saban if he decides to go this route.:shakeno:

Hey NEWS BREAK!!! My son "Ronnie" is the starter and "Ricky" is a 3rd down back.

no way... if anybody was as good at their job like ricky and quit...and the company or w/e failed, i am sure they would be taken back. besides who cares what r u worrying about it doesnt afeect you
I'll tell you what. Go to your employer, tell him you quit because you don't have a passion for your work, you want to smoke pot, he/she's wasting your talents by not using you correctly, and he/she's overworking you. Then go up in front of the entire company and bash your closest co-workers. Storm out of the building and stay away for year. Come back at the end of the year and ask for your job back, then tell me if you feel the same about Ricky coming back.

Withholding evidence IS being an accomplice. That is the defintion of being an accomplice. And I guess if you believe the jury says he is innocent then that makes it so, then I guess OJ is inocent also.:shakeno:

Maybe in the leagel sence, they only make you an accomplice because it makes people think twice about not divulging information, however it doesn't make you a murderer or an accomplice. And I know you'll find this hard to believe, but just because you want to hate doesn't automaticly make everyone guilty. BTW our leagle system is far from perfect. I think the trial was the prosecutors chance to prove R.Lewis was guilty, he couldn't and R.Lewis can never be tried for the issue at hand again. I guess innocent until proven guilty is something your not a believer in. Do everyone a favor don't treat every football player as if they are OJ simpson. What happen to Ray and what happend to OJ are in no way close to the same things.

Why would you even think Ricky coming back is in any way close to what he left?? We will not be putting all our eggs in one basket anymore. At least as long as Saban is here. You still seem to ignore the the problems Ricky has and you think everyting Ricky does is to soley hurt this team. Let me ask you a question, who did Ricky hurt more by quiting, the team or himself?? Ricky needs the right people in his corner just like M.Tyson, Tyson had the wrong people in his corener and went from an unstopable machine to an ear eating no talent mess. I think Saban will do far more for Ricky then DW ever did and if Ricky still walks away at an imortant time to this team then we won't feel the effect nearly as much as we did last year. Ricky's talent is top tier in this league and he will be playing for the Fins this year at the vet minimum, whatever he does now will be considered in the money he still owes the fins.

Ricky is trying to be a man and own up to his debt, that means he will have to walk into the locker room and face the guy's he let down. Could you do that??? How can you fault anyone for trying??? Your not Ricky and you don't know what he's gone through in his life. I do know this is just a sport to us , it's not life and death. We are putting nothing on the line every Sunday sitting in front of our T.V.'s drinking beer and earing chicken wings other then raising our blood pressure. The palyers put their lives and futures on the line every time they take the field. I think you need to take things into perspective.

How about this? Have you ever heard of supply and demand? Butt heads like us are a dime a dozen. Our employer really doesn't need to look that far to find someone who can replace us and do our job. However; before Ricky left, he proved he had above normal productivity and was a direct correlation to our wins as an organization. Combine that with the fact that RBs of his caliber aren't around every corner, it could take a team years to find (see the Marino era) a decent RB, injuries, and you have a market rich for players like him even with a view side issues.
