Ricky on third down??

The Robert Edwards idea is brilliant I think. Edwards has played superb this season. And besides, Ricky is in for the short 3rd downs, Edwards only goes in when it is not a running down. It's a good way to give Ricky a break during a long drive and Edwards has many receptions for first downs this season. Edwards is a better receiver than Ricky.

Edwards average is also the benefit of the 3rd and long situation he goes in on. The opposing defense is playing off for the pass, which in turns opens up some holes. Yes, he can catch as well. But when Ricky is in, the defense plays up on him. If you put both in the same situation with the D playing back, who do you think would have a bigger average?
If you're going to compare them, make sure it's up to the same situations to give a fair shot before we say who is better at doing what.

But I'd love to see both in at the same time. I think the defense would blitz though, which would open up the Fiedler to Chris pass. Why not Ray? Do I really have to answer that?
