I can hear them now. The multitudes filling this board with the negative posts about how "Ronnie is a bust" and "Ricky is a waste". This weekend Miami plays in Tampa against an angry Buc team that is at home, and boasts the #1 ranked run defense in the NFL. So as excited we all are to have Ricky back, chances are we won't see much of a ground game this weekend. I expect that Gus will come out throwing the ball to loosen up the defense and then try and test the run as it progresses. I look for quick, short routes and a low scoring game. But this is not the week to look for huge things from R&R. Not against this defense with this offensive line. So be prepared and keep your fingers off the panic button.

Better days are ahead for the Miami ground game.

It's not just the running, it's the swing passes and screens. I mean both Ricky and Ronnie are awesome receivers out of the back field. Look, Ricky/Ronnie in the back field, Chambers/Booker at WR, McMichael at TE....who do you cover? It's not just a run thing, but between Ricky and Ronnie I think we get 130-140 yards between them, most in the 4th QTR when Tampa is tired and both backs are fresh.

Monte Kiffen is cleaning out his drawers as we speak.

If Gus starts throwing to open up the ground game, he'd better hope the best RB blocking tandem in the league is on their A+ Game. Otherwise, we'll be seeing the Bucs in the backfield all day.

You don't "start" 2 RBs, both franchise backs, just to have them block. Don't be fooled by TB's defense. While #1 in the rankings, they've been proven to be run on in the past. It might be slow going at first, but I expect a decent amount of R&R early going. Primarily to establish the mismatches and prevent the double coverages.

With R&R on the field, they will be opening up the passing game (mismatches). Not the other way around.

I'm not expecting much against the Bucs this Sunday. I do expect to see Ricky make a few nice runs however. You never know, if by some chance he gets into a clearing, he'll be going the distance....

I think Ricky is going to run as hard as possible, and we all know what he's capable of when he comes to play. The guy could go off for all we know....

PHINZ RULE!!!

Ricky and Ronnie do not equal less penalties and/or turnovers.

Let's put this into context, the played:
Week 1: The Vikings that have very little on the ground threat
Week 2: The Bills with McGahee that got blasted by his coach for not running hard
Week 3: The Packers with a below average oline and Ahman Green that is going nowhere this season
Week 4: Detroit with a bad offensive scheme and an overrated RB
Week 5: The Jets who are having a bad time getting their running game going this season...

They have not played anyone with a running game worth it's while. Let's see after this sunday's game and talk about where they stand...

I am not saying they are bad or average, I'm just saying I want to see them vs. some good backs and an offense that knows how to use them a little more. I don't know, they pass to me as a little light on the defensive side and getting a steady dose of Ronnie and Ricky might just do the trick...

I know what you are saying, with our fickle fans I have no doubt however good they do it won't be good enough.

With that being said I think the bucs D is overrated as they have not played one decent offense this year really. I will know for sure late sunday afternoon at the end of the game, but I think we match up pretty well against them.

Define a good back because I know that a rookie and a washed up vetern are not that!!

So Caddy is not a good back

Yeah he's good, but not in same league (yet) as Curtis Martin, Willis McGahee, and Ahman Green.
