Ricky >>>>>>>> Ronnie

No doubt.

Edit: Let me expand..............

Ricky is so much better than Ronnie, it totally amazes me that the coaching staff hasnt realized this. Either they havent or they still feel ok splitting their carries and letting Ronnie get the first touches(which really dosent matter who starts, its who gets the most burn). That would amaze me more if they they realized the truth yet still dont get the ball in Ricky's hands 20+ times a game.

Seriously its plain to see. Ricky is the better runner. He is easily faster. He has a much better burst. Ricky sees the field WAY better than Ronnie. His pass catching and blocking skills equal those of Ronnie's and he is equally as physical. Both men run with great power.

Ronnie is a good player, no doubt. But, Ricky is elite. He is clearly our best player on offense. Why he dosent get the bulk of the load baffles me. If you ask me, aside from Peterson and Deangelo, there really isnt a better RB in the league than Ricky. There are some I might say are as good and quite a few I would say almost as good, but I guarentee if you gave Ricky 15-20 carries and a few more pass catching opportunites, he would post the same monster numbers he posted a few years back.

And before you tell me this isnt 2002, Im quite aware. All I know is when I see Ricky run he looks just as powerful, elusive, and fast as back then. Granted he is past 30 years of age, the guy took a couple of years off. He also hasnt been used much the last 2 years. Plus, he stays in excellent physical condition. The guy takes great care of his body.

Face it. Ronnie has been built up on here from the day he was the 2nd overall pick. But, just because he was and Ricky quit on us and it pissed people off, neither of those facts makes Ronnie a superior player to Ricky.

I say, RUN RICKY RUN and SIT RONNIE SIT and it leads to great success for the phins. Let Ronnie get in there when Ricky could use a break. Its not like Ronnie is a bum or something. But, when you have one of the elite backs in the league like Ricky, no one else should be getting more than 5 carries a game.

Ricky is also much more of a heads up, winning type player than Ronnie. Notice Ricky was the guy who tracked down dude who recovered Fasano's fumble and saved a score with that tackle.

Ricky is much much > Ronnie.

Finally....something new to discuss.

:bs:

I just want to pound the ball. We should ride the hot hand rather than mixing it up so much. Put the ball in the hands of the guy performing right now and don't worry about the other backs feelings.

agree, but rickies time in the NFL is coming to an end, and he was vilified for using mostly harmless substance IE cannabis. When the NFL does nothing but catter to alcoholics and morons.
Ricky isnt getting any younger. But Ronnie did give me a big LOL during preseason when he did that spin move and there werent even any defenders in the area, SPIN RONNIE SPIN!!!

I'm taking Ronnie, he'll put up 120 this week and we won't need to talk about this until week 6 where he hasnt run for 100 in 4 games, then goes out and runs for 150 and 4 tds after we all confirm he's overrated. Consistency is his issue, but so is our offensive gameplan and blocking.

The problem with the Offense has ZERO to do with what RB is in the game - Ronnie- Ricky- Cobbs-whatever. The problem has to do with lack of identity and lack of commitment to a philosophy.

Right now the offense is hitched to multiple wagons and runs gadget plays like they are foundation plays. When Sparano in his Monday press conference states he put Pat White in to see what the defense would do, how they would line up, "sort of like a waste pitch in baseball", I nearly puked up my cereal. The Fins actually started moving the ball that series, then in comes Pat White and the whole philosophy changes and momentum is derailed. I am sorry, but possessions in an NFL game are FEW - maybe 9 a game - and none are "waste" possessions to me.

Get an identity and commit to it.

Vision - Ricky

Power - Ronnie

Hands - Ronnie

Speed - Equal

Acceleration - Ricky

Burst - Ricky

Pass protection - Ronnie

Versatility - Ronnie

Durability - Ricky

Ricky is old for a running back....and he has a tendancy to fumble....and he could up and decide he no longer wants to play tomorrow as far as anybody knows....

Ronnie is the best football player Miami has on their roster.....and one of the best in the league....never fumbles.....and he's playing for a contract.....he just doesn't get the carries to be effective...

Ricky....I like Ronnie, but i think he's inconsistent. Its a shame he went down with that acl injury a few years ago when he was on fire, he would have been the best rb in the league.

Both are great running backs.

But Ricky fumbles the ball every 50 touches, while Ronnie fumbles the ball every 100 touches.

That's the big difference.

I don't think you could be more wrong. Ricky had A better game, that's it. Ricky "looks" better because he got the one long run where Ronnie was lined up in the backfield with him. Ricky also gets the "trick sweeps". If the Fins were smart they'd give Ronnie the ball 20 times a game, both running and passing plays. Cam Cameron was an awful head coach but that's one thing he did right and you seen what happened when given the opportunity.

Ricky might be old for a RB but he did take a few years off from football when he abruptly retired so you have to keep that in mind. He wasnt gettin banged up for those years so i still do think Ricky has decent amount left in his tank.

I dont know which one i would say is better but one thing i do know is i hate how when Ronnie gets to the line of scrimmage or goes thru the holes he does that stutter step crap all the time. He should just run hard and not worry about all that stopping and tryin to juke stuff. Both are fast, both are good blockers and pass catchers. All 3 of our backs can do it all and im grateful for having 3 backs that are able to do everything but i also agree we have a problem with consistency on offense as a whole, not just when it comes to the running game.

I agree whoever is hot that day should continue to get the bulk of the carries that game. If Ronnies having a slow day and Rickys gettin the big gains dont distribute the ball evenly let Ricky tear it up that day and let Ronnie worry about his carries on a day when hes got it together or vice versa.
