Why is no one talking about this guy? I've notice the scouting reports on him are pretty good. A high motor guy who will probably be the fastest LB in the draft. During his senior season, he showed he can cover RBs and TEs. The intangibles are there; he needs to work on his strength and improve his ability to shed blocks, which are coachable. If we are able to trade down for more picks and Rolando McClain and Brandon Graham (my favorite ) are off the board, I can see us drafting him in the latter first round. Any thoughts? Is there something negative about this guy that keeps Fin Fans from including him in any of our draft plans?

Don't like him for our system. I think some team will take him in the late 1st or early 2nd, but I see potential OLB's who will work better for us and be there in the 2nd or 3rd.

I don't think he's even close to being a 3 down player in the NFL right now....I view him as more of a nickel pass rusher, etc...

His injury history is also a turnoff...

Plenty athletic enough to be standup linebacker in a 3-4, but he's a ways from being the total package IMO...

I like him as a prospect with potential but not in the first 2 rounds...

Agree with Ted. Don't see him as a 3 down guy. I also think he's vastly overrated.

Thanks for the insight. I do not favor two-down players that much either. I didn't get a chance to see any Clemson games last season, so I wasn't sure about him. I've seen some mock drafts drafting him as high as #10 on through the latter part of the second round. Then after reading some favorable scouting reports on him, I was wondering why there wasn't that much buzz about him on this site.

i like sapp.but there are some problems.his acl was torn.he doesnt disengage his blocks real well=he doesnt use his hands.he needs to keep his feet moving when engaged,keeping his angle of attack. saying that he is the most explosive lb in the draft.at 250 running a 4.58, he is as fast as dez bryant.his closing speed when clearing his block at the line or behind it is unmatched by anyone in the draft. its not even close.kiper doesnt like him until the 3rd.but multiple drafts have him going to the pats and jets in the 1st.people compare him to porter because of his weakness against the run,and his speed for sacks.he is young with lots of potential,thats a scary word.if a team runs a blitzing scheme,and are good teachers.this guy could be a beast in a year or two.

Thanks for the input, I found it very helpful. I agree about that word "potential" being scary. If you look at my sig listed below, you'll see I included a quote by Bill Parcells that I hold to heart because I find it to be spot on.
