in today's insider they interview some players, looked like bowens, hadnot, welker then ricky.

anyways the ricky interview was pretty good and i thought he gave some pretty good answers.

i must say i don't remember seeing him that comfortable in front of the camera ever......and when he said the thing about his talent it made the reporter chuckle which was funny.

its just good to see he's looking like his heads on straight and wants to win!

edit: also i think the whole R and R situation will eventually be quite a combo...its just gonna take some time. they need gametime experience against opposing defenses to really get into a rythm....good teams have great talent at many positions....there is no downside imo of having both there. our team does need to adjust and learn how to use these guys in big ways.

BRING ON KC :fire: :fire: :fire: :fire:

I'm watching right now, I just heard Spragan, Bowens, and Welker... Ricky is next. By the way, Welker looks like Peter Parker (and John Lynch), especially with that red hat, looks like a Spiderman hat. Well.... anyway. As for Ricky...

I definitely do agree though, Ricky looks more comfortable than I could remember. He's smiling, he's laughing... part of the reason he didn't play that much was because of the injury (hip bruise he receiving making a block during the 2nd QTR) and they didn't want to over exert it but it doesn't seem serious. He only carried the ball for 5 times and had 6 catches. I really can't wait until Ricky gets more adjusted to this team and new offense, how effective he and Ronnie could be. I'm not making excuses for Ricky, I just don't think it's fair to evaluate him on just that game like someone people already have began doing. I think he'll get more comfortable in the system and get back into the football speed and I expect him to have a much better game this week against Kansas City and I'm expecting a BREAK OUT game against New Orleans in two weeks and I think that's when we'll get our first road win of the season.

same here

it would be foolish to rush him back full speed, saban knows what he's doing.

the thing is saban isn't as concerned with being 2-3 as we are. like he said everyone is result oriented (the media, us...etc.). these games are him testing and singling out his players of the future.

and the better ricky does, the better sabans chances are for success...well the better any player on the team does ....but a potential pro bowl playmaker?? if ricky runs wild saban will be called a genius for facilitating and re-centering ricky and reaping the benefits of that. not to mention ronnie i think he will be an excellent back, but ladanian wasn't LT in his rookie year....

in my opinion this year we will work ricky in more and more and going into the offseason ricky will be pegged as the number one back (majority of carries) and ronnies pass catching/blocking will be seen more and more.

judging by the way theyve structured our cap to give us alot of freedom next year i look for us to make some waves possibly a big qb trade then a solid draft taking a rook qb.

anyways they will stock up the team for next season heading in ricky will be #1 on the depth chart and if he flakes we got ronnie/sammie...by no means am i saying ronnie sit the bench, use em both!! but rickys a bit quicker and ronnies blocking ability is greater than rw's ...we'll see ....it could be great

Man if we dont beat NO, then we are in for one hell of a season.

Agreed. I think we will play a very competitive game against Kansas City this week at home where we will we put ourselves in the situation where we will have our chances to win the game and it will all be a matter whether we can execute or not. If we can, I think we can win this game, but I KNOW it's not going to be easy. I think Kansas City may very well be one of our toughest opponent this year if not the hardest which is why we're lucky we have the advantage of the heat, fans, and being at home. We need to take advantage of our D because while I thought they were going to be pretty good this year, they are nowhere near as good as Tampa Bay's D and Buffalo's Pass D. We definitely have to take advantage and we are still in the race for the AFC East and we will be for awhile, we're still only a 1/2 game out of first behind New England and Buffalo. I do have to say that the New Orleans game is a MUST WIN for us in two weeks and I really do think we can win in (I believe in LSU, Saban's homecoming) and we will pick up our first road victory. If we could somehow stay undefeated at home by defeating Kansas City... it would definitely be our BIGGEST VICTORY of the season, even more than Denver... even if it's by 1 point or 30 points... if we can somehow pull off an upset and than go into LSU to face the Saints, I really do think that we'll be in the BEST SHAPE in the AFC East. I really do believe that but it all starts with Kansas City this Sunday and I KNOW... it's not going to be easy.

I believe Saban has made an environment where Ricky can be successful. I've been saying for awhile I don't believe Ricky goes anywhere. And I don't understand why anyone would want him to. Both backs are excellent insurance in a hard long season. also it gives us one of the most dynamic 1-2 punches in the league. Once they become more adjusted to the gameplan.. this should really be exciting and open up the passing game!
