I didn't burn mine, I gave it away.

that's kinda cool, then. you didn't really need a lesson...

i'm happy when people i like don't ho themselves out all over the place. there are way too many pointless tv shows and way too many advertisements out there. i'm glad somebody's turning the stuff down.

man if u really think about it that is idiotic
Ricky hates publicity.... one of the reasons he left football. That's also why he cut off his hair.

i think doing a reality show and interviews would completely go against everything he was trying to avoid in the first place.

So no, it't not stupid.

if ricky helps to win games, wayne will write it off.

why does a billionaire need 8.6 million bucks?
he doesn't.

I'm shocked. I would have bet $ he would except such an offer!

Well, there goes that whole "Ricky is only in it for the money, he's a drug addict and a horrible human being and I hope all the worst things in life happen to him and only him" sentence we've been hearing so much of lately. If he was only about the money, he'd have jumped on all of those opportunities, and easily made a few hundred thousand dollars. Instead, he declines and stays out of the spotlight. I'm dying to see what all the haters have to say about this.

Give it some time. :D

I wish that he would of done it because i think that it would been a pretty cool show.

ricky does interviews in a helmet... there is no way he would let anyone follow him around with a camera

aslo the ESPN cover would just be about him leaving and coming back, not about somethign positive he did

i dont know about the nike thing, but it makes sense that he would turn down the others

Persoanlly Im really happy to hear this about Ricky. We all know he a different kind of cat. I believe in this age of athletes being self cetered "show me the money" type guys.. Ricky is a breath of fresh air. Ive always believe that Wanny and his system drove Ricky from football.... and his not being being able to deal with his drug suspensions.

Bravo Ricky. You're very strange....and unpredictable.

you dont become the rushing leader if you heart isnt into the game. Ricky got used and abuse on his way to that title. Wanny should have understood this. And maybe he would have stuck around. I dont play profootball. I have never been hit with that ferocity. I cannot blame Ricky for not wanting to be run for a record number of carries 2 years running.

I'm glad to hear RW turned down those offers. It bodes well for his performance this season. However, I agree with those that say it had more to do with his desire to avoid attention than evidence of his commitment. I still think he is a selfish person and would not want him as a teammate.

I disagree.. I havent heard any guy from that locker room who isnt happy to have him in the backfield. Sometimes as fans we have to realize we feel something different than the guys fightin the war on the field.

thats idiotic, he owes the team 8.6 million dollars and when you owe somebody that much money then you don't turn down offers for money

do you think they're offering him 8.6 million for the show? no probably not even close... not spike tv. why would you think a guy that turned down an offer to be (mis)represented on the "idiot box" in order to focus on his job, idiotic... :m359:

besides, the debt is written off for now. our players don't need to make public spectacles out of themselves.

igor, you went from 16 to 25?

He became unstuck in time like Billy Pilgrim in Slaughterhouse 5.

He probably saw how utterly ridiculous folks like Ozzy Osbourne and Bobby and Whitney have appeared on their shows and decided that he would prefer to at least retain some of his dignity.
