Williams, 31, is explosive. Football operations boss Bill Parcells, head coach Tony Sparano and teammates have raved about his dedication.
He has revealed he and Ronnie Brown, who was having an All-Pro season before crumpling to the ground with a season-ending knee injury in Week 7, have a goal of rushing for 1,000 yards apiece, something that has been done only three times.
"It will be a challenge to get out there and compete," Williams said, flashing a smile. "When the dust settles, hopefully people will be pleasantly surprised."

Not to be a downer, but let's remember that he hasn't had serious NFL contact on a regular basis in 3 years. He didn't exactly light it up here in Toronto. So I am being cautiously optimistic on his return. Everyone knows he has skills. Perhaps the most surprising thing is that haven't seemed to decline as of yet. But then, he hasn't had the regular wear and tear of backs who've been consistently in the league. Good thing for him.. and us.

The R&R show should be nice to watch, and I truly hope we can keep both healthy all season long. After last season and our myriad of injuries that plagued us, we're due for a little luck.

I think Ricky prefers this new role. When he was in spotlight a few years back, he didn't handle it very well inside. I think he's going to have a great season, and hopefully this isn't his last with the Fins.....

:(:beer1:you are being a bit of a downer but ill send you a beer in the spirit of lively debate. I am hoping for Ricky to tear it up.

intelligence comes in many different forms and ricky is very intelligent, he has weaknesses like we all do but intelligent people can overcome weakness sometimes, This dude is on a mission. he has focused all his powerful energy into one thing..dedication to his craft. probably for the first time ever.

Cant wait to see the results of this humble man.

Really? Ricky's got it together? No kidding this time? Great. Seriously, it's hard for me to fathom how people will hold a quitter pothead forth as our savior, year after year. He's 31 now. Hurry quick....He's only got but so many more...

ETA: Somone please post his stats for the last three years. NFL...CFL...Arena Leauge.....Whatever. I just want to know what makes people think he's going to be our savior.

Not to be rude but who called him our savior.

Ricky was good his last full year in the Nfl so if he can return to that I think we should agree we will have a deadly running game if R&R are both healthy.

I think most think he will be a great back again is is work ethic is impressing Sparano and Parcells and considering how long Parcells has been in the league and who he has coach I'd say if someones work ethic impresses him its worth sain somethin

You're seriously talking about the work ethic of the guy that quit on the team to teach meditation in Grass Valley, CA.....And only came back because of all his child support because this is the only way he can make money?

I'm glad you have confidence in a 31 year old pothead RB.

People say the best trick the devil ever pulled was comvinceing people he didn't exist. The Rickmiester has been fooling lot of people for a long time. It's what drug addicts do. Again...His outstanding stats from the last three seasons should rock.....Right?

I'd say you're dealing with a guy that called Terry Glenn a "She" and yet, that player folowed him from place to place.

I don't thinks anyone is calling him a savior... But when your backup rb is a former league rushing champ, who has little wear-and-tear on his body, a new attitude and something to prove, it gives us reason for hope.... We haven't had much of that lately.....

Again...Post me some stats in the last three years that tell me I should have hope.

ETA: Brother....Dude has a "new attitude" every year. It's part of his shcitck......Like Mike and Mike...Only in Miami.

LOL you act like no one has ever been able to quit smoking pot and turn over a new leaf. Just relax and be happy you have a player with talent on the team, the coaches see something in him that makes them excited. What do you know that they dont?

You could well be right, Ricky has had a bad record in the past.

But let's approach this season with some cautious optimism and see the half full glass. You never know, we might be pleasantly surprised.

I think things are set up for both Ricky and Ronnie to have monster years. We are going to be a run first team. Solid execution, conditioning, and in your face football is what this team will be built around and as these 2 go, so will the Phins.
