i have a question ,sorry if it was posted already,so why is ricky gona wear 27 i remember him saying before the season stared that he was going to try to wear 27 for the dolphins in stead of 34 but the leage didnt let him, do u guys now the reason because i forgot

Marketing of the 34 and Ricky Williams. Its been a hot seller. Due to the league and its marketing priorities, they denied ricky.

Yeah, and Ricky says it has "Spiritual Meaning"
 
The NFL won't allow a player to switch his number when he is player for the same team. If he went to another team he can then change his number. Ricky said he wanted to change his number when he re-joined the Dolphins to symbolize his 'starting over' but the league wouldn't allow it.
I've got to tell you guys that I am excited to see him in the Double Blue of the Argos - I have had seasons tickets for 9 years and I am looking forward to this season!
 
It's funny, the NFL wouldn't allow Nate Burleson to change his number to 13 even tho he also went to seattle? I don't get it.

He was asked in the press conference why he chose 27. He said he wanted to change to 27 in Miami but the NFL won't let you change numbers without changing teams for marketing reasons.

Didn't say why exactly, but said the number 27 was special to him?
 
cuz last year ricky said that in one of his classes he learned that number 9 was the perfect number and it was suppost the help him. some reason the dolphins woulding give it to him. nut then he goes to the cfl and number 9 is taken so he did what he was going to do last year, take number 27 cuz 2+7=9!
 
Here is ricky sporting the new number today.

New number new life, or what not. Lets keep focused on the reason he is really doing this. He wants to stay in football shape, and he still needs to be making coin (even though he is taking about a $ 250,000 pay cut from last years $525,000 that he was making). These are two of the major things that he brought up in that press conference. As long as this year goes well for Ricky I expect to see a very determined Williams ready for the '07-'08 season.

Actually, he chose 27 because is 2 + 7 = 9, a religious vest of perfection. Did you make that up on your own or did your mother help you?
