To some extent I will never be able to root for Ricky Williams again. I don't trust him and I don't really respect him. Not for what he did to the fans or to the Dolphins Organization, but for what he did to his fellow teamates. Those are the only people he owed something to.

Now, I know there has been some talk about trading Ricky after his value goes up. I hate to burst the bubble of many of our fellow fans, but, that will never happen. Ricky's trade value will never reach the same level as what he is worth to the Miami Dolphins.

Nick Saban is all about "value to the organization". A healthy Ricky Williams serving as Ronnie Brown's side kick makes Miami's offense significantly more dangerous.

Don't be surprised if Ricky Williams is a Dolphin who serves as the Cadillac Williams to the Ronnie Browns show in Miami. Again, given how undependable he is, his trade value will never reach what he is worth the organization (whether he plays 1 game or three seasons for the Dolphins).

It's hard to have a solid argument either way. But let me mention one team that might trade for him. Everyone's favorite Asylum: The Oakland Raiders.

I would argue it would be a horrible investment to spent anything of worth on Ricky, but, anything is possible. Bad teams get desperate and stay bad.

There is a good chance Ricky doesnt even make it through training camp if he decides he doesnt like the rigors of it anymore and prefers to go to India to find his inner self again.Anything is posible with a guy who changes his mind every 30 seconds.

Does anyone know how long Ricky has to undergo drug tests? I know he is supposed to have 10 un-announced tests a month.....but is he required to test for the rest of his career? Also does he have a 3 strikes-and-your-out policy for the rest of his career? If this is the case, I doubt anyone, even the Raiders would want to touch him. All it takes is one night of Ricky becoming insecure and he could decide to hit the weed again.

the Raiders have no use for Ricky they signed Lamont Jordon as a free agent

They would love to have Ricky if he proves that he is still good, Keep in mind Al Davis has a hard on for nutty NFL players so Ricky has a high chance of going there. I do believe that Ricky will be traded, to who? I have no clue, but that is what I have heard alot lately after all its part of his ''value'' to us.

Lamont Jordan is solid, but not in the same league as RW

there's actually a possibility of getting up to 20 a month...and it is for the rest of his career. One strike, and he'll get a year suspension.

The Drug Policy rules state not more than 10 tests a month. Where did you get 20???

3. Stage Three

a. Procedures.

(1) Term: A player in Stage Three will remain in Stage Three for the remainder of his NFL career.

(2) Compliance with Treatment Plan: A player in Stage Three must comply with the terms of his Treatment Plan, as required in Stage Two and as may be amended in Stage Three.

(3) Testing: A player in Stage Three will be subject to unannounced Testing. At the sole discretion of the Medical Advisor, a player may or may not be tested; however, if he is tested, he may not be tested more than 10 times during any calendar month for three complete NFL seasons following the player's entry into Stage Three.

Such Testing shall include Testing for the NFL Drug Panel and alcohol, but in addition Tests for other substances of abuse will be conducted if the player's Treatment Plan requires abstention from such substances.

After being in Stage Three for three seasons, a player may request of the Medical Advisor that the number of tests that he is subject to be reduced.

The Medical Advisor may, but is not required to, agree to the request.
A player in Stage Three may not make this request more often than annually. The Medical Advisor, after consultation with the Medical Director, may extend or resume this period of Testing.

My previous post answers the first part of your question.

If Ricky fails another test or doesn't make the test appointment will be banished for a minimum of one year. It is up to the commissioner if he ever plays again.

b. Discipline.

(1) Discipline for Failure to Comply in Stage Three: A player who has a Positive Test in Stage Three or fails to comply with his Treatment Plan, as determined by the Medical Director will be banished from the NFL for a minimum period of one calendar year.

(2)Banishment: A player banished from the NFL pursuant to subsection (1) above will be required to adhere to his Treatment Plan and the provisions of this Intervention Program during his banishment. During a player's period of banishment, his contract with an NFL club shall be tolled.

c. Reinstatement.

(1) Criteria: After the completion of the one-year banishment period, the Commissioner, in his sole discretion, will determine if and when the player will be allowed to return to the NFL. A player's failure to adhere to his Treatment Plan during his banishment will be a significant consideration in the Commissioner's decision of whether to reinstate a player. A player seeking reinstatement must meet certain clinical requirements as determined by the Medical Director and other requirements as set forth in Appendix B.
