Listen, all you anti-trade ricky people always resort to the "low salary" crap but the thing is he is not going to play next season with the same contract. He and his agent understand that he is a better player than his yearly salary is indicating. So if you dont want to trade Ricky then come up with a better excuse than he comes cheap.

he said it himself earlier, ricky hater, that he is fine makign half a million, alluding to the fact that his mother worked multiple jobs and raised him and his siblings on a meager salary.

enough of this bull****.

He won't get one from anyone. At least near as close as to what he was making before he went on vacation. Wicky is a HUGE risk for any team. That reality will never go away.

He'll definitely ask to renogotiate. At the very least he'll push for an incentive based contract.

Isn't that what he already has signed?

He'll play this year with his contract if he's not traded because he still owes Wayne $8M. He's not going to get that by holding out & only playing half the season. That would hurt his chances of getting a big contract elsewhere once he hits free agency in 2008.

Right. He may ask for a raise the year after, but for now he already said he will play for what he is being payed.

Yes, but the circumstances were much different then. Last offseason, he was negotiating out of a position of weakness. Had he not agreed to play and honor his contract, he was set to be sued by the Dolphins. Now the Dolphins want to capitalize (even exploit) that contract and use it as a bargaining chip in the trade market. Fair enough, thats their perrogative. But theres no way Ricky and Drew are going to stand there and watch it happen without putting up a serious fight. JMO of course.
