It varies from state to state, but if a person quits a lucrative job and the court feels that they're doing it to avoid child support (or maybe to engage in an illegal activity)then they'll usually maintain the support levels as they were.
Also the $4,200/mo for child support doesn't sound like a mandatory statutory level to me. I'm guessing here, but it sounds like RW and the mother agreed to this amount and the court just approved it. If so, any rant against the court system is misplaced here. It's just another example of another poor decision by RW.
