Anyone hear the report by NBC's sideline reporter tonight?

Talking about how Ricky Williams was the motivation for Deuce to go out of his way to welcome and work with rookie Reggie Bush.

He claims Ricky belittled him in front of the team any chance he got and never offered any advice or help to him.

Interesting look into another side of Ricky Williams.

Funny, I can't imagine Ricky Williams being childish....

Yeah I saw that too. Wonder if it's true because it seemed him and Ronnie had a pretty dang good relationship as far as I know.

Yeah.. I heard that. Pretty weird really. At the same time, Ricky Williams was a really quiet and shy guy in his New Orleans days [note, the wearing the helmet during a press conference moment]. Most of it was a medical issue; not sure if Ricky Williams had problems approaching his players and people in general.

Not giving advice or help I can understand since he was really anti-social back then. But belittling I don't think so. Ricky may be shy and crazy but he's no bully. If he had any sort of a mean streak, he'd still be here.

Ricky did actually have a grudge against Deuce which he used as motivation after his trade. I recall him saying that when they were competing mid-season for the league lead in rushing.

Well, Deuce said he did and only brought it up as an example of why he felt so compelled to make Reggie Bush feel welcome. It's not like he was just throwing a story out there for the sole purpose of making Ricky look bad.

I mean really Regan, with all the crazy things Ricky has been involved in do you really feel as a fan that you really know Ricky Williams?

I admit I was shocked to hear it as well and Ronnie Brown has has only positive comments when he was asked about his experience with Ricky.

Well, from what I've seen and heard of Ricky, he doesn't seem the type to belittle someone in front of a team, especially when he's not exactly a very favorite or prominent member of the team social group anyways. If you look at the crazy stuff he's done, none of those really had any mean streak to them. I wasn't shocked that Ricky was shunning Deuce but belittling is a bit much.

Yes, this is going to ruin Ricky. God forbid Ricky Williams look bad. :D

Ricky & Ronnie always talk on the sideline..Ricky helped Ronnie alot..even Ronnie quoted it last year

When Ricky comes back next year, I dont see him ever having a problem with Ronnie or any other backs here

I dont doubt McCallister for a second. There was a reason the N.O. wanted rid of Williams. Immediately after the trade there was talk of how Williams never fit in, wasnt a team player, etc. while in N.O. Plus, the report said that Deuce claimed that Williams belittled him in front of the team. Thats 60 plus witnesses if you count the coaches. Why would Deuce lie when there are so many people that could call him on it?

Ricky has proven himself selfish over the past few years with the Phins. Why should it surprise anyone that he was the same while with the Saints.

I don't doubt that Ricky shunned him but I do think he was exaggerating or just plain making up stuff about the belittling business. To belittle Deuce means Ricky had to have some kind of contact with teammates which Ricky doesn't do.
