He was our only real weapon, and our oline was blocking preaty good that year. Did the links work??
 
Ya did that link work for anybody??? Once you click on the clip you want to watch it takes a real long time to load for me then doesnt do anything at all.

Ricky ran 200+ yards twice that season. It would've been 3 times but he was like 10 or 15 yards short the final game of that season against New England. A game I still can't figure out how we lost...

A lot of us feel betrayed because of how he quit and walked out on us. He was one of my favorite players while he was here no doubt, but he let me down, he let his teammates down, and he let his fans down. And then all the **** he started saying after he retired... how he was "FREE AT LAST. FREE AT LAST". He said he doesn't have anything to apologize for, if came back it would only be as an Oakland Raider, the whole living in a tent in Australia smoking weed everyday. Everyone has a lot of hatred and animosity towards Ricky. For me, I would call it disappointment. I was disappointed in how he let everyone down and just walked out on us 1 week before Training Camp last year without any warning whatsoever. I'm hoping he's a changed person (mentally) and can be like he once was (physically) on the field and gain back people's trust. In order to do that, he would have to show he's more mature, more responsible, loyal to this team and dedicating to playing in the NFL. (Assuming he comes back) Unlike last time, if he walks out on us again, we'll be prepared to move on because we have Ronnie Brown and overall I'm confident with our team. The positive out of all this is, if Ricky comes back it's a low risk situation with not much on line to lose. We'll most likely be paying him the Vet Min, so if he walks out on us again... we won't lose much and we'll be able to move on. If he produces on the field and is healthy (mentally), I think it's just an added bonus. I don't expect all of his teammates to liking, but if he does come back... I hope that he'll be able tolerate him. If they can forgive him... than I can to.
 
So maybe the guy needed to get away for a while and get his life together. Would you rather have him on the field playing with no passion and not producing or just not playing at all? He could have become a locker room cancer.

I get where you are coming from but come on. If I were a Phin fan I would be more excited about Ricky coming back than Saban joining the squad. You won with Ricky and "the worst coach in NFL history." Can you imagine what "the best coach in NFL history" can do with the guy?
 
If Ricky returns to form I would easily take him over any RB in the NFL, that includes Black Jesus (Willis)
 
Just for the record I do not think Wanny was the worst coach nor do I think Saban is the best or the worst coach ever (HE HASNT PROVEN **** TO ME IN THE NFL)
 
I think people (including myself) are disappointed Ricky left the way he did. If he talked to someone about it... went for advice. Going off his medication might have been a mistake, he needed help with his mental health. If he needed a break, I wish he would've went about it a different way. Maybe he could have seeked professional help if he couldn't deal with everything himself. There's no denying that he is mentally unstable. By no means whatsoever would I have wanted him playing on the field with no passion or becoming a locker room cancer. I just don't know if he has a passion now or if he's just coming back now because he's broke and owes us $8.6 million.

I'm really confident with Saban and trust his decision making. And I can't deny that I'm excited and I am so pumped for this season!! :rawk:

If Ricky returns to form, I'd want him back in a heartbeat. And yeah, I wouldn't call same the best coach in the NFL... but Wanny being the worst isn't that far off. :wink:

I here where your comming from and Im one of them who is very excited to see a Ricky and Saban combo. I still have all my Ricky stuff, cards, plaque, etc, and I still didnt get rid of it. I have never lost faith. Wanny was a horrible coach, and Norv was a crappy OC. Run up the middle, run up the middle. I dont blame Ricky for being pissed, blowing a fuse and having to leave. Now that we have all a new, Im hopeing we see a fresh, diehard, hard nose runner that we got when we traded for him.
