I was watching NFL total access, and already knew that there were talented backs out there but 2006, is going to have a bunch of talented running backs whose contracts end in 2006 and would be FA. How would Miami be able to trade Ricky next season even if he has a great year? Here's the list: Edgerrin James, Shaun Alexander, Deshuan Foster, Ahman Green, Michael Bennet, Brian Westbrook. Looks like there's a surplus of running backs in the league right now, so not much demand. Why couldn't it have been like this when Marino played, I tell ya

Here's a link I found from Adam Schefter that he wrote on nfl.com, which was what he said on total access if you want to look at it yourself. http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/8682146

If ricky does good this season....I think theres a good possibility of him staying. If saban really wants to trade him next year, I think he will be traded real easily beacuse the asking price will not be as high as the others. Saban will probly take anything.

Too many people ASSUMING he WILL be traded. That is not a guarantee. It's all speculation. The simple fact that he hinted at only playing for two more seasons is reason enough to feel he will be with us next year as well.

I don't see why we have to. Let him split with Ronnie for the next two years, kind of have a Pittsburgh style running attack (especially if we find ourselves cycling through QBs, or maybe eveb starting a young one). As long as he is not a problem to the team it's ok, and his contract is very cap-friendly.

I don't think we will. I think the only way we will is if we can't afford to keep him. Or if he decides to retire again.

I think it all depends on Ronnie. If Ronnie turns out to be a stud then Parting with RIcky will be easy.

Jason Cole said it best in his forum, Talent trumps everything in this league. Teams will be willing to take a chance.

who ever said anything about trading him?

Well Ronnie Brown is out future, I figured Miami would probably trade him next season after they showcase his talent, I guess they might as well keep him another year, because '06 does not look like a good year to try to trade a rb

Exactly. If he's only going to play two more years I don't see why he can't play those two years as a Dolphin.

I think that the more Ricky impresses at camp, and the longer Brown holds out and losses valuable time to learn the playbook, the more I think we may hang on to Ricky.....also, we haven't seen Brown play a single down, so that may also be a factor in keeping Ricky around for a bit

Well with the money Brown is about to get paid, he better be our main rb for years to come, or else we just wasted a no.2 pick, and a lot of cap space. Ricky might want a lot of $ next season if he plays well, and if he does, then it would definitly be time for him to be traded. It will be hard though

What make you so certain that Ricky will be traded next year? I personally feel that Brown needs to show that he can play first, we dont know how he will performe at this level yet.
