Well What else is he gonna say at the moment. "If I wasn't being tested 2x a week, I'd be puffing all day long" ?

He still sounds like an idiot when he talks to media. Saying he still isn't happy playing and all. Things like this is what makes me not like him as a dolphins player. Because i have always loved guys like Parmalee and Jim Jensen. Guys who give their all and never complained. they just worked.

Ricky is still an idiot. This just tells you right there he isn't out for the team he is just out to pay his debt.

An idiot? I'd bet he has a higher IQ then most people on this board.

??? Hmmm..I wonder where you came to this conclusion? Ricky Williams sounds farther from an idiot than most pro athletes. I think his views are refreshing and to be honest..he has carried himself quite well. He has basically turned his return into a non issue. All of these columnists and Mike Wallace...keep trying to bait him into something...and not once did he sway. Good job Ricky.

I don't care what anyone says, but he can't be to smart to begin with if he gives up millions of dollars for one year of smoking pot in India or wherever he was. Just my opinion.

I was wondering the same thing. You won't find me backing Ricky's personality and the choices he has made in the past, but I definitely don't consider him an idiot. In fact, there was nothing in that article that swayed me from my opinion that Ricky has returned with a positive frame of mind and will have success because of it.

Some people think that you can't be intelligent if you believe there is a big guy in the clouds with a beard watching over you and sent a dude name jesus to die for your sins.

Different kind of thinking dude.

Did you mean "Some people think that you can't be intelligent if you don't believe...."?

Well yeah that's a whole different story, but I'm just stating an opinion in response to another.

As a matter of fact he does. He tested genius on IQ tests when he was a kid, and was put in accerlated courses. Ricky has never been a "stupid" person. What he did was a stupid, but i think his social-anxiety / coach wannstedts scheme played a big role in that. If he played another two seasons with the dolphins he would of ended up like earl campbell. Ricky doesn't value material items, thats obvious. Hes never been money driven. Did he come back to relieve his debt? I believe thats some of it, but i also think he wants to prove to everyone he can still play.

As for smoking pot in india? Who cares if he smokes pot? Tell me one thing wrong with marijuana and i will prove you wrong.

hurumph! I feel the exact same way about the colimnists. Ricky's done well. He hasn't let them "see behind the curtain". :)

As for people who think he's an idoit because he's not "worshiping" money and walked away from very big dollars...well, ...

.....while there aren't many (if any) Buddahists or Hindi followers in the NFL doesn't mean that people with that type of belief system can't excell in the NFL...I admit that he could have saved himself some of the money and grief by properly retiring instead of just quiting on the spot...but...that's all done and past now....he's here and will very likely be suiting up for us again (I highly doubt that he's traded before next offseason) for game 5 of the regular season......

.ricky and the players on the team have gotten over it...perhaps some of the fans should as well. You don't have to like the guy but there's no sense in harping on the stuff that happened in the past. Leave that to reporters like Wallace who will try to milk Ricky and his enigmatic personality for one or tow points in the Neilson ratings as the network tries to bing in a viewership that often doesn't watch their show since it became more of a "gossip" TV rag than a hard hitting "factually based" news service. :D

hey....I'm right with you there on your post... but.... as far as one thing wrong with pot....welll, I can only think of one...it's illegal. period. And I'm not talking about NFL rules either...it's a law of this country.....that said...if they ever legalize some tai stick....well, there's going to be a bowl of bud on my coffee table. (note: i doin't currently smoke pot. I did smoke occasionally back in college but that was just over 10 years ago, legalize it and that changes for me.)
