Dolphins | R. Williams Doing Individual Work
Sat, 24 Sep 2005 07:35:47 -0700

Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams is trying to keep pace with his teammates by practicing by himself after the rest of the team's practices are over. Williams isn't allowed to work with other Miami players or coaches, but he does have an athletic trainer help him. The workouts are within NFL guidelines for suspended players.

Good to hear.....stay in the weight room Ricky and off the weed. :)

Ricky has always worked hard, it's nice to hear he's staying focused and his heart is in this.

He sees an oppurtunity to take the starting job away from Ronnie and I think he wants to be ready so when he gets in the game against Tampa who he did well against in pre-season he does well against and looks like the hero.

I still think if Wanny had been a better comunicator Ricky would never have left. Not saying Ricky wasnt at fault for leaving I just think if him and the HC had been on the same page the frustrations could have been worked out. I think I am right about this based on the fact that he is now back in a fins uniform and gives Saban most of the credit for bringing him back.

YOu're kidding right ?

I not expect a strong return in week 6... TB d# is tough... but He can finish the season in the same level as he quitt

Ricky and Ronnie will tire out defenses, well We beat TB in opreseaon, using starters for most of the game, but it will be differentthe D has to stop Cadillac.

Good to see that Ricky is really committed to coming back. Looking forward to a big season from him.

Should be good when he gets back since I reckon Ronnie will be up to speed by then too!

I've no coubt that Ricky will hit the ground running straight after he gets back. Saban and the other players have all said that Ricky is one of the hardest workers around. Both before and after his year out. Some people seem to be making the assumption that all dope-smoking hippy drop-outs are lazy. There's a whole heap of exceptions to that particular assumption. Of which Ricky is definitely one.

Personally, I don't have any problem with him taking a year out of the game. People take time out of their careers all the time (albeit, often with a little more notice...) and no-one bats an eyelid. I did it myself, spent a year travelling and reckon its the best thing I've ever done. For some reason its different for sportsmen. Even if they do have to cope with record numbers of carries behind a dismal OL.

...just that most people don't leave claiming they prefer drugs to doin' their job.
The WAY he left was the problem. Hopefully, he can return in a way that will bring a positive spin to his name/career and the Dolphin's organization. I sincerely hope Ricky has his "thing" together, continues to work hard and has a great year.
