Ricky is having a phenomenal year. I think we've all noticed he's running very similarly to earlier in his career.

Here are some numbers to confirm:

His current rushing avg. (5.4 ypc) eclipses his career high from 2002 (4.8ypc).

He has set a new career high for longest run, 69T (previously 63T in 2002).

He has tied a career long for pass reception, 59yds (2003).

Profootballfocus currently ranks him #2 among all HBs, and #1 as a runner.

These numbers are likely to keep improving throughout the season as we face some soft rush defenses. Ricky should be able to ecplise 1,000 yards this season. That would be the third time he has done it for us.

Parcells saw this coming from a mile away this offseason and locked Ricky up with that $4.35M salary for next year. Thank goodness.

I loved the run right after the fumble. They didn't give the jests time to review the call and he trucked one of the jests. Nice run ( it gave me chills:-)

I really thought he might be done after last year or would be an afterthought this year. Last year in preseason he was looking good then appeared a little slow hitting the hole when the season started. This year just the opposite did not see that much in the preseason though he did appear a step quicker in the couple of times he played and this season he has been quick to the hole. Ronnie has been up and down and picks his spots to run through. It could be that they are resting Ricky more this year than last is a guess on my part. In termd of Ronnie I think him playing the wildcat so much may be wearing him down a bit as he has looked tired at the end of some of the games. Loosing Patrick Cobbs has hurt for sure even though he may have just taken 3-5 of those plays away from Brown they still helped keep Brown fresh. I guess the phins do not have enough faith in their other 2 running backs to have them fill Cobbs shoes to bad.

Ya, Ricky seems quicker this year for sure. He's always had great vision and toughness, but he's got a burst this year that's been missing the last year or two. It's fun to watch. Every time he gets the ball, there's a feeling he could break it.

Ive been saying all along this guy is just as good as back in 02/03. There is really no reason to not feed him the ball out of traditional sets 20 times a game. Give Ronnie 8-10 wildcat touches a game and get him out of there so we can punish ******* with Ricky.

Dude is the 2nd best running back in the league behind only Peterson and Im starting to think that is a little closer than I once thought it was.

Ricky is a ****ing animal out there.

I would start Ricky and work Ronnie into the rotation, giving both 15 carries per game and having Ronnie finishing the games, while Ricky starts them. Ronnie is less fumble prone and has a knack for getting the 1st down late in games whereas Ricky has the instant "strikeability" factor and can put the Phins in a huge lead in the beginning.

On the Wildcat, is the fake to Ricky a read that Ronnie makes at the line or is the keep/give predetermined? Lately Ronnie has been keeping it a lot more, and Ronnie gets stuffed quite a bit behind the line.

ricky's gonna be 34 years old next year......just sayin'. he could very well slow down.

Right now, Ricky's more dangerous than Ronnie. He has that real chance to take it to the house anytime he touches the ball - like a lesser AP.

I don't see him slowing down between this year and next year, barring injury. His legs are fresh and he's not being used as an every-down back.

He plays next year, could have a similar year (esp if Ronnie is still here), and then retires and heads off to medical school. Hopefully we make a run while he is still here.

Very good question. I don't know but would venture to guess it's predetermined so the blockers know where the ball is going.

Fortunately "Pornstache Wannstedt" didn't use him up in 2002. He carried so many times that I almost felt bad for him watching the games.

Ronnie makes reads that determine whether to hand off or where to go just after the snap of the ball, I saw a little segment on it........

Ricky looks just as good as he's ever been. He runs with an attitude and still has speed when running the ball that Ronnie doesn't have. (Don't come with that 4.3 combine stuff cause we all know he never outruns anyone). That being said Ronnie is still the more all-around complete back. He is a great receiving RB out of the backfield in addition to his ability to run it. IMO Ronnie is the most versatile back in the league. He should get more touches but i still think Ricky needs at least 10-15 touches a game.
