Ricky Williams.......Now.....

Ricky clearly made some mistakes as a player but I fully respect the way he has carried himself and used his mistakes as a tool to improve others. His career could have ended with his name etched in Dolphins Stadium, and that it didn't is surely disappointing, but I've enjoyed watching what he has brought to the game and to the world as a public figure.

I would say that is a fitting summary.

He was smart enough not to be one of the ex-NFL players to have brain damage due to concussions. And at least he can still walk without a walker or a cane.

I'll never forgive Ricky, but am glad he is doing good for himself.

That's true.

I have no issues with a guy leaving the game. At any time. Leave if you want to leave.
However, with me it's a matter f timing. I've never quit a job without giving notice.
I feel it's the right thing to do, even though in this workplace environment, it's not.

You also owe it to your employer to not do stuff you're not supposed to do.
I don't think that's too much to ask.

Never had a problem with him personally but I really disliked how he bailed on us during that season. Bottom line though, if he needed to do that for his sanity.... I ain't mad at him.

If Ricky would've stayed, we never would've gotten rid of Wanny. His temporary retirement merely exposed this franchise for what it was. And the danger of making one piece an all encompassing component. Kind of like Manning and Indy.

That would be a fair argument in a regular circumstance. Players can be cut without notice as well.
