Ricky Williams Q&A

You are missing the point. Whether someone would trust someone after a year after is of no consequence when it applies to Bush #43. What is of consequence with the comparison you are trying to make is Bush has shown over almost 2 decades he is a trustworthy person. Can Wicky say he is trustworthy at this point, have decades passed by that no one knows about?

There is no double standard. No matter how many times you try and infer it that is not reality. Wicky has not shown he is trustworthy for almost 2 decades after he had his problems in life. He can turn it around, or he can fall further down the food chain. This could be his life from now on. The guy could end up in jail for all I know. Either out come is as likely as far as I can see when it comes to Wicky Rilliams. He is an enigma.

W/e Skape. Wicky has not had 2 decades of time to prove if he is a changed person, Bush has. That is the root logic that you are missing. Your comparison is flawed from the get go because of this fact.

Now I wish I had a image to say, spin away Skape. :D

I think he came back just so he wouldn't have to pay the fins back on the law suit. Mock my words when his contract is up he will retire again. I'm glad saban draft protection for that.

With that said though I do welcome Ricky back I just don't like his personality.

:)

Anyway, its a clear dodge.. Sure I am asking you to answer somewhat of a hypothetical, but its not the first time we have dealt with hypotheticals on messageboards..

The comparison still stands, the only clear difference being the time expended since their inception of soberness..

Fine I'll answer only because you understand my answer has nothing to do with the Wicky situation.

Of course I would not trust Bush after what took place on his 40th B-Day. I believe his wife gave him the ultimate choice to make. He either had to give up the booze or he had to give up his family. He has more than shown he learned his lesson.

I hope Wicky finds that kind of wisdom.

I think that despite his problems, Ricky is clearly a much more articulate and educated fellow than some of the people that frequent message boards such as this.

Thank you.. So what would you rate Ricky's chances of success? Dont you believe those around him should be supportive of any practices he partakes in that positively effect him and free him of his past insecurities and chemical dependencies? Just as those around Bush were during his moment of crisis?

I don't think he knew what the hall of fame was

I don't think he knows who Dan Marino is

How can anyone defend this man?

Of course anyone around him should be positive about his chances. I am not around him, I'm just a fan that doesn't know him.

My only concern is how he fits in with the Miami Dolphins. I know he will not be around, and I know I do not trust him because of his past actions in the NFL while he was a player with the Sainst and the Dolphins.

I am just glad we can get a lil more out of him before he has to go. Anything we can get out of our investment of Wicky is a good thing for this team.

I give him a 50/50 chance. I do not think he quite gets it yet. I think he has 1 or 2 more falls to make before he really gets it. Unfortunetly like most ppl that finally get it they have to start all over again once they finally get it. That is usually how it goes in this life.

I don't know about you guys, but it seems to me Ricky is alot smarter then what people think...he puts alot of thought into every answer, he doesn;t just say the first thing that comes to mind...I'm telling you he is a very smart person....although it doesn;t mean he's done the smartest things...its tough to follow your own advice.

I just listened to part of Wicky's interview today, I had only read it previously, boy what a different feel you get from listening to him rather than reading the transcripts.

He came off as honest, energetic, and very much concerned with answering the questions asked of him by the reporters.

I hope Wicky has really learned from his past mistakes, that would be a GREAT thing for him.

Really? Cool!

I agree. Listening to him makes a completely different impression than reading the transcript. I wasn't fully on-board with his initial apology, for instance, until I saw and heard it. His body language communicated a sincerity that was missing from the text.
