According to the Miami Herald....Ricky Williams has regained much of his lost weight..now weighing in at 215 lbs. Also...Ronnie Brown will likely miss the first bit of training camp because of contract negotiations...mostly because Todd France his agent will wait to see what kind of contract Alex Smith gets from San Fran.

Hmm. I am not worried about Ronnies contract negotiations, I just hope he can get to camp in time to get in shape for the season

Agents suck! They need to get these guys in camp on time. They should have to be in camp or lose portions of what they will ultimately sign for.

No reason to worry at all...it sounds like it is typical for the #2 pick to wait on the #1. I just hope Alex Smith doesnt hold out...and keep Ronnie out of camp in doing so. Youd think France and the Dolphins could figure out something regardless of what Smith gets.

Question for all....

Does Ricky looking more and more like he will be returning in football shape give the Dolphins any leverage in the Brown negotiations?

I don't think so, its not like hes a vet holding out. Hes just waiting to see what alex smith gets so he can get a decent contract. I just hope it doesn't extend into training camp :(

I think Brown will be there from day 1.

I'm not worried about either Ronnie or Ricky tbh.

I was happy to hear Ricky had gained back much of the weight. It goes to show how serious he is about a return...at least that he is working hard at putting back the muscle....

And no...I dont think for one minute that the extra pounds are from him binge'n on potatoe chips because he has the wicked munchies...lol...

<insert dumb drug joke here>

Its good to see that he's putting weight back on. I think about 15 more LBS and he will be out of major injury weight, what i'm most concerned with is football speed, conditioning and weight is very important but if he has his muscle and loses speed then its all for nothing!!!!

Not in the least. Ricky is just as unreliable and unpredictable as he ever was. Being in football shape means nothing if Ricky is sitting in a tent in Australia or at home due to another failed drug test, and you can bet Ronnies agent will tell the Phins that if they try to play the "Ricky card"

Damn those rookies!! Besides who do they think they are?? They still have to prove themselves in the NFL. I hate all this big money BS, prove yourself first then get the money.
When you get a job you dont start out at 50-100k a year after college do you? So why should the rookies get 5-10 mil?? And yes, I blame the agents also, they just corrupt the rookies in thinking they are better than they really are.

while you gain points with me due to your avatar your comparison is way off base. This is their profession, its not there fault they get big money its what the market demands. While our (common man) market doesn't allow us that oppurtunity. With football being the worst sport for guarenteed money or player benifits, every player should be able to get the most he can as they can take it away just as fast. When your employer highered you you had no experience but you still negotiated a salary based on evaluation/interview/past work, and he is doing the exact same. Good for him he should get as much cash as he can.
