Does anyone else understand why this guy is so loved by Dolphin fans. I know he is a great running back when on the field but look what this guy has cost this team. You can add this to the problems we have know. Two #1 picks for him Just imagine what we could have with two #1 picks (maybe lineman or a Qb) maybe the Culpepper trade is never made and we use are #2 pick on lineman or linebacker. Also if he hadn't bailed on his team we would not have given up the #3 pick for Lamar Gordan. Now that's two #1's and #3. Also we would not have felt the need to draft a RB with the #2 overall pick ( I like Ronnie Brown by the way) maybe Braylon Edwards or Merriman would have been the pick. One season of leaving us high and dry to go smoke weed, One season suspended because he can't stay clean, a 4 game suspension in another season. 2 #1 picks a #3 pick and having to use our #2 overall pick on a Rb when we had other holes is what he has done but everyone still loves him and can't wait for him to come back.

I think this subject has been drug around as far is it needs to go. I like Ricky Williams the football player and I respect Ricky Williams the person. He didn't FORCE the trade. He didn't have any say in the compensation. He has a right to do with his life what he wishes. He helped this team the best he could when he was here under some crappy circumstances. He worked hard - as hard or harder than any player on the team when he was here. What he "cost" the team is in the past. There is nothing that can be done about what Wanny and Speilman traded away. At least we got something out of Ricky - the best running back Miami has ever had. What did we get for the second rounder we gave up for Feeley.

Ricky may still be able to help this team in some way or another next year.

Ever wonder why so many dolphin fans hate Ricky Williams?

I mean when was the last time you heard his name outside this forum?

It's the NFLs fault for having to many damn rules! You have enough rules and someones gonna break em.

What Ricky did, he did, on his own personal time and not at work.

What Ricky did at work was phenom!

My point was not to attack Ricky Williams but to say look at this deal and what it cost us these are the reasons we are in trouble now because we piss away too many picks and try to fix everything with other teams players instead of drafting and developing players. We should have cut him loose after he quit on us and been done with him.

You can't blame Ricky for Wandstedt mortgaging the future on him. Also, cant blame him for Speilman wasting a #3 on a back that cant even earn a roster spot on most teams. They probably would have blown those 2 first rounders anyway. (jamar fletcher?)

All we can blame him for is getting in trouble for violating the policy and getting suspended. that was bad, but it is the teams fault for relying on one player too much. In fact, we never made the playoffs w/ Ricky, so he didn't really take us anywhere.

I think it all worked out for the best, now we got a coach who will build a solid future here.

What if your poopy tasted like cherries? Then we could have saved a lot of money on pie toppings

If he was in the nba he would just be one of the crowd.......

Hmmmm.... ricky was a beast to blow wide open in miami.

1 and 1 is alot but oh well.

for what do you think the chiefs would want for LJ? 4 1st round picks or even that.

I dont think franchise rb get traded no more even for 2 first round picks except hes disgruntled/holdout with the organiztion.

Ricky singlehandedly brought forth the downfall of the Evil one known AS Jay/Dave-Wanny/fiedler. Even though he has vanquished their kind our land is still suffering from their lingering poison.

Yeah in a nut shell when he quit Dave was canned. Thank you Ricky!

Listen columbuslarry if you think he quit too smoke weed, you need you head check out, he like to use weed, but if you followed his story it was other factors, some of you people just put threads out just to be doing it, the guy is liked by everyone who meets him, it funny how everyone is just crapping on culpepper on his worst years he still better than joey, but someoff these armchair qb's kill me

I'll be honest... I look up to a guy that can turn down millions of dollars in order to live a life that makes him happier. I wish more people could realize like ricky that fame and fortune are not always the answers to life.

That being said, I probably would have chosen the fame and fortune.

Alot of you miss the point!! If ricky doesn't quit on his team the trade for Lamar Gordan doesn't happen and if he doesn't wait until after the draft to come out of a tent with Mystic steve we may draft a different position than running back. This guy just continues to screw up ( I don't care what he does with his life just stop causing our team headaches and go away) Why would we want him back.

Ricky is not perfect but neither are any of us. I can forgive Ricky for some of the thngs he has done, just as long as he continues to work hard. I look forward to hopefully seeing him back in a Phin's uniform next year. He can still get the job done, and with Ricky and RB we will have a great running attack. :dolphins:
