Ricky Williams

It really just depends on what Ronnie does in the next 2 games and if Saban believes Ricky deserves it. I just really can't form an opinion until I see the next few games though.

I think he will start. But I think his carries will be split with Ronnie, wich will be good for both players.

Ricky and Ronnie will split carries at least for 2-3 games until 1 of those guys separates himself from the other. But even if Ronnie outperforms Ricky, I can't imagine Ricky not seeing many carries. Now if Ricky outplays Ronnie, I can see Ronnie getting few carries while Ricky is the show.

Make no mistake about it. Ricky WILL be the starting tailback. You will see a lot of what you saw of Ronnie in college. They will split carries and be on the field at the same time as well. It is going to add a very nice dynamic to this offense. Ricky will be the starter, like it or not.

got to wait and see how brown develops over the next 2 games but I will be glad to see him back it will give opposing teams alot more to game plan about .

Ronnie will start until RW breaks open the competition with a moster game. Then you have to start the most poductive player. This is not a popularity contest.

well i hope he comes back and like Ricky of old. (i have him on my fantasy team)

Don't you have Ronnie Brown too?

But yeah, they're going to split carries. It's going to keep both guys healthier and ready for the rest of the season. That is unless one of them blows up and starts having a Priest Holmesesque year and I don't see that happening. Not enough time all around to get used to our O-line , our new offensive scheme, new coaching etc.

Our starting lineup could be..

WR: Marty Booker
WR: Chris Chambers
WR: David Boston
TE: Randy McMichael
RB: Ricky Williams

With that lineup, all 5 skill positions would have pro bowl gamebreakers (ok, Chris Chambers hasn't made the pro bowl yet).

In 2 WR sets, we could have..

WR: Marty Booker
WR: Chris Chambers
TE: Randy McMichael
RB: Ricky Williams
RB: Ronnie Brown

Ricky could do most of the carries, and Ronnie could do most of the receiving out of the backfield.

And on 3rd downs, we could have..

WR: Marty Booker
WR: Chris Chambers
WR: Wes Welker
TE: Randy McMichael
RB: Ronnie Brown

All good receivers.

Does anyone else besides me think Ricky should be the starting halfback when he comes back from his suspension?
he'll have to battle sammy morris for the starting position by the time he comes back from suspension.

Even Ricky will have problems if the OL isn't playing any better by then..the one thing that RW has an advantage on of Brown right now is field vision, which might help with our disaster of an OL...Brown will be ok..he still isn't comfortable with the plays yet...it's obvious...Ricky is a veteran back that should be the starter when he returns (because he earned it in TC) but Brown will be on the field with him a lot...
