If the 2nd test is clean, and it was something other than MDMA or Coke or whatever.

Does Ricky trade value actually increase?
After the NFL will most definitely apologise for the break down of the confidentiality clause.... More Pity for Ricky.... having the fact that he is clean "showcased" for everyone to see.
Could it actually convince some other teams that Ricky isn't a risk?

And before anyone wants to jump on the other what if's...
LOL
This is "perfect scenario" thread...
I know that it could go the other way

I dont think it will help it

BUT

Im also one of the few people that doubts it will hurt his trade value

I think everyone in the league knows that Ricky can be subjected to up to 10 tests a month, so i'm sure every knew he was clean prior to this. So if he is in fact found to be clean, then i doubt it actually IMPROVES his value, just brings it back to what it may have been prior to this.

I dont know. I think it can only hurt it. This will bring about the realization that he is just one mistake away from one year away and probably his career. Whether the mistake is his fault is totally irrelevent. This positive test, whether false, true, missunderstanding or whatever sheds some light on how serious his situation is, and will make teams think twice about obtaining him.

That's right.

Did I miss something, what second test?

the testers always have 2 seperate cases or vials or whatever of each person's urine...they test one, and then to make sure it wasn't a mis-test they test the other vial

edit: they wait until the appeal to test the second vial, i think

I tend to agree with you, I will say that perhaps it many not increase his value, but might interest another team, while turn off another.

I can see Dungy eating this kinda thing up

Yeah, I agree that it highlights the potentional problems that come along with having Ricky apart of your team. Knowing that one bad test or if he mistakenly takes the wrong vitiman or eats a poppy seed that he's done for a full season. I think any teams that would potentionally trade for him are just made even more aware of how easy it would be to lose him for a full year.

If Ricky is exonerated his value DOES go UP! You are so right...And think about this - if it doesn't he will stick around and have ALOT to prove! So you called it Ricky is money!

Maybe Ricky was eating a soy burger and the bun had those seeds on it that give false reads for drug tests? Who knows? The NFL should just tell everyone what the illegal substance was. :shakeno: Why does the appeal process take 4-6 weeks?

You mean poppy seed bagels.

Where's Jerry's mom to provide the sample for RW anyway? LOL.
