Rickys Debt

Curtis Martin? Maybe you've heard of him?

Coles has been a big time WR for the past 3 years and he's better than any WR you guys have(Boston has more talent but he has head issues).
Maybe you have heard of Chris Chambers? Coles has been traded twice in his brief career, so those same issues you were referring to with Boston also apply to Coles.

Yesterday, I read that allthough he might play for a vet minimum, his debt is cleared if he returns to play for us.

Do you guys think we should keep the money or take him back?

Personally I think we should keep the cash.

hes not going to come back and make the vet min. AND still have to pay the team 8 mil.

how does a team trade an entire draft for a guy and then pay him the league minimum??? :shakeno:

i think he will come back, ok, get a few carries, (if that), the team says hes not in playing shape, and cant play at the level he did befor. and try to trade him, and eventually cut him. his debt it gone. and hes out of football.

Love the guy, put he may have peaked and with his age for a RB may be on the downword slope. Doubt you will be able to get a team together in time to get him a ring and that sucks, because he is someone I wouldn't mind seeing, going out on top.

We have a team now that can get him a ring, we are one of the best teams in the AFC and we have a shot. We aren't the faves but we have a shot. I never doubt the man, I have been reading for years how he is done and can't keep going then he has a 1,700 yd season and leads the league in rushing. He won't do that again but he'll have a good enough year rushing for around 1,300 yds. He's a class act and a great football player.

You mean the guy who has never posted a 1,000 yd season and never caught at least 70 balls? HYeah he's better than the guy who has averaged 87 recs and 1,139 yds a year the past 3 years

By the way, he was a FA in '03 when we lost him to Wash and he wasn't traded b/c he wasn't producing, he was traded b/c he wanted out and back to a winning team.

You better pray to the football gods that Pennington's wrist holds up or you guys are in trouble and that's trouble with a capital F-I-E-D-L-E-R!

Fiedler is still better than any QB you have.

2000-2003

Dolphins record w/ Jay Fiedler: 36-17(1-2 playoffs)
Dolphins record w/o Fiedler: 4-5(0-0 playoffs)

win % w/ was 68%
win % w/o was 45%

Now you are just being antagonistic. Now don't get me wrong, Fiedler is a warrior. He'll take a beating and keep on getting up but his arm isn't too strong/accurate. His heart can only win so many games.

Fiedler is better than carter. but if pennington goes down, and fiedler has to play, i would be very worried. hes actually not to bad as a backup, but without pennington, i dont think the jets can go very far.

I agree, in the short term we'd be fine w/ Jay(he always won games when he waa surrounded w/ some talent and we have more offensive talent here than he ever played w/ in Miami) but if Chad is out for a long period of time then I'd be worried.

I thought this thread might be about his debt to his teammates and the fans :fire:

fans dont care about a player. they only care about their team winning.

he gave 2 spectacular seasons to the fans. then retires, and the fans blame him for all their teams losses.

maybe he sould have ran like a bum for 2 years. then the team could have cut him, and he would not be forced to play a game he doesnt want to play.

1 spectacular season. In '02 he had a phenomenal year but in '03 he was mediocre and they didn't make the playoffs w/ him. They got the worst end of that trade, has there ever been such a mediocre player to be traded away for so many #1 picks? It's amazing all the #1 picks traded for a guy who had 1 great season.

well, i was trying to avoid bringing up the stupidity that agreed to trade 2 1st rounders for a RB who wanted to quit a year before the trade took place.

but ricky was a dominant RB, but just cus his team missed the playoffs those 2 years, doesnt mean hes a bum of a RB. their O-Line had alot to do with his drop in yardage.

He was dominant in '02, he had an all-time great season but he was average in '03 and most of the rest of his career.
