I found this on youtube....

He looked kind of uncomfortable up there.... This must have been very tough on him with his Social Anxeity Disorder. This dude has come a long way...

It was also funny how he threw his defense under the bus

The other thing I noticed is that the other finalists (all QBs) did absoltuely nothing in the NFL

I think lots of people have come a long way. Ricky is where Ricky is because of Ricky. He's playing football because of his child support bills. I know lots of you guys love you some Ricky....I'm fine with it. I've made my peace with it.

That guy can go rot AFAIC.

Now on to more Ricky Williams knob slobbing, as per usual.

wow

that's all that can be said about your post...

Cool vid. I have a question for you guys though (asking it here because I don't think it deserves its own thread) Does Ricky seem a lot less bigger to you guys? As far as I know he's the same weight, but he just seems to have lost a lot of mass since his little incident.

He's dropped signifigant weight since he was at UT. People that want to know what the definition of "Beast" is...That was Ricky at UT. I thought he killed the Safty from A&M he hit in his last bowl game.

Ricky, when he was a football player was magnificent. Sadly, he's got lots of mental issues. He's playing ball because it's all he can do to meet his bills becaue of his inability to put a shower cap on that rascal.

He'd go tour with Lenny Kravitz again in a heartbeat if he didn't have bills.

I think he should try to get back to whatever weight he was 4-5 years ago, because we need a pounder runningback to compliment Ronnie. And I still always wonder, as many of us do, how things would be if he never smoked that crap. Ah well though, I also wonder how Pennington would be with Jay Cutler's arm, but wondering only gets us so far ..

If Ricky Williams was ever to be blamed for trying to pay his bills then the rest of the players in league should be blamed as well.

Hey, if he can make his money..It's all good. I don't blame him for one second. I just want people that think Ricky is in it for the love of the game and all that other garbage that fans want to think thier heros are in it for....Well, he's not.

I'm fine with Ricky. I'm just going to be that guy reminding everyone he's a complete asshead, in my opinion. Other people are free to disagree.

He would probably be out of the league by now with the way Wanstedt was running him into the ground. 775 carries in his two seasons under Wanny! the second year the oline was trash, Ricky was running into a wall over and over again.

Maybe.

But he seems like the nicest person to meet. He has no anger with anything it more it seems. Just because he has different views on life, doesn't mean he's a complete asshead. He's a non-comformist, but not in the way to change his image, but what he really wants to do.

Thanks for posting the video. Ricky was the definition of high potential - he had the incredible physique, the speed, the aptitude for greatness and toughness to succeed. Smart and very well spoken. He had everything going for him - even the dreadlocks. Ten years later, we see a guy who has experienced many ups and downs. It didn't turn out quite like everyone expected. The dreadlocks are gone. No doubt, he had the natural talent and all of his coaches remark on his excellent training, but Ricky was troubled by things away from the game. He is physically tough but also he has a sensitive soul that appeared troubled with deep sadness. And footballers with those attributes generally get crushed.
As a Dolphin, he has given us some terrific games and has also broken our hearts too many times. It is ironic that the multiple child support payments forced him to take stock of his actions and grow up. He is now a long term survivor in the game (I think he's the longest serving current player on the team). And last season he proved to be a really good team player by sharing the workload with Ronnie (and Cobbs), and has effectively extended his NFL longevity.
Every top draft pick should watch this video. As another blogger remarked - none of the other Heisman finalists made it in the NFL. The real learning is that natural talent is not enough to succeed - it is also important to grow up and get the mental side in order, as well.
Ricky's later chapters are still to be written, it would be great to see a Super Bowl ring before becoming a physical healer in Northern California...

it was a great speech. but yes, he did look uncomfortable speaking.
