I know, I know! This is the millionth thread about Ricky williams in the past... ten minutes. I just realized something, if Ricky returns week 5 (there's that whole argument about the BYE week counting as a game) he would take his first snaps agains the Buffalo Bills.
If for some reason you guys can't remember --or don't want to-- Ricky Williams always played his best against the rival Bills. He had 271 yards once! In five games against the Buffalo Bills (one with New Orleans) Ricky amassed anywhere from 600-800 yards, I can't find the exact stats anywhere.
Anyway, just another nice twist in the ever-present Ricky Williams saga. If all goes as I said and he returns during week 5, the media will surely bring it up again.
Did anyone else think of this before?

I was wondering myself if the bye week counts as part of his suspension. Anybody know?
I've said a couple times that BYE weeks do count as a week but a lot of people disagree. Last year Jamal Lewis had to be suspended for four weeks, one of which was a BYE.

I heard that Rickys first game back will be the Tampa Bay game, which means the bye doesnt count. Not sure if that is true though

Jamal Lewis was only suspended for two games last season. He was suspended after their bye week. The year he was out for four games he was already out for the season for a torn ACL.

Bye weeks don't count for a suspension. Ricky's first game will be against Tampa.

Bingo. He'll will be suspended 4 GAMES not 4 weeks.

Its a 4 game suspension not a 4 week suspension. His first game will be againts Tampa Bay.In which i will be there..

I'm still not 100% sure of that but so many of you guys seem to agree on it.
Either way, it would have made for a hell of a welcome party.

...if he makes it through training camp. He is 4th on the depth chart (at least!), is underweight, and very unpopular. Think his fragile ego can handle that? Especially when he learns he WON'T be making 3.6 million this year?

Bye Bye Rick, have a nice drive home.

It's definately the bucs game where he comes back.
PS... if you're talking about the game in buffalo in the snow, he ran for something like 228 not 271....although he didnt even run in the 4th quarter

He won't be underweight by the time training camp arrives. He won't be 4th. He should already know he's not making 3.6 million. All you need to do is welcome Ricky back to the team because he's coming back whether you like it or not.

u must be joking 4th string. ricky was top three back now with a year to heal up from the beating he took since ariving in miami. he will beef up probably the 220 range and once again be top three back

Most people seem to agree that he will be back against tampa, but as i live near buffalo, the sports reporters are saying that he will come back against buffalo, i am not justifying what they are saying because they are no ESPN analysts, but that is just what they are saying.

The sports reporters are wrong.

IF he comes back and can actually help the team I will welcome him. He won't be a help, won't be in game shape, and won't be wanted back by his team mates. He will understand the animosity and the battle he has to face, and quit again. Would you care to make a small wager that Ricky will never have another 100 yard game in the NFL? That is, I am assuming some other team might pick him up after he is released. Or that the Phins might hold on to him, hoping that he might come around. I highly doubt either, but leaving it up to you. He will never see a start again.
