im sure it's been asked before, but i cant seem to find it on the boards.

just had a few questions about him and was wondering if anyone could answer them for me please.

1. First off, I'm under the impression that he is either gonna be a Dolphin or Nobody in 2007. I'm pretty sure with the way the contract is set up, there is absolutely 0% possibilty of him playing with another NFL team , is that correct??

2. what do you believe the chances are of him starting for us in 2007?

3. Would it be possible for him to say "the hell with football" and never play again? I know he had some financial troubles, and he still does, right?

4. how awesome would it be to have him start 16 games for us in 2007??? :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins:

1. Possibly traded.

2. ZERO!

3. Yes, very possible. Very likely. Not out of character for him at all.

4. Ronnie is starting. It is his position and he is the ONLY RB we can 100% rely on.

is there really a 0% chance of him playing for us? or are you just saying that because you dont like him?!?

I like Ronnie Brown as well, and would defend him against anyone who says he didnt preform last year. he played damn well for having the worst run blocking in the league. he's definitely an above-average back in this league.

but still.. we all know who the better back is out of Ricky or Ronnie.

1) Yep, he's still under contract to us. Technically speaking, he's still suspended, though he's going through the re-instatement process now.

2) If he's reinstated, he'll be running the ball. You'd have to ask Cam how he'll be used though. Ronnie will likely be the #1 back, with Ricky providing the change of pace/majority of 4th quarter carries.

3) He can say to hell with football again, but he'd only be hurting himself. He's still got time to burn off with us before we'll forgive his debt. He comes dirt cheap at the vet min, and provides a nice change of pace, but we're no longer in a position where we need him to succeed.

4) I doubt he'll be starting. He's fairly fresh, having missed 4 games in 2005, and playing in the CFL last year. His broken arm is likely 100% at this point (haven't heard about his injury, so I'm presuming it's not a concern). We'll likely use Ronnie to pound at the defense, and then use Ricky for cleanup.

His response of "ZERO" was to your question about him starting for us. Ricky does have a zero percent chance of "starting". If, and that is a big if, he gets reinstated by the league, he will likely be Ronnie's backup.

i have a feeling if theyre both healthy and both playing for us, they will either split the carries evenly or ricky will get more. in 2005, right when ricky came back, he started getting more carries than Brown, yet Brown was still listed as the "starter" for every game. so i guess instead of "starting" i mean who will get the most carries.

That only happened in 2005, because Ronnie got hurt. Ronnie was not healthy enough to play a full game. Ricky will NOT get more carries then Ronnie and I would be very surprised if it was even 50-50. It will likely at least be 60-40 in favor of Ronnie. Ronnie Brown is the future of this franchise, not Ricky. This is Ricky's last year on his contract and the rumors say he only wanted to fullfill his contract then retire again.

thats if ronnie doesnt get hurt again. (2 years in a row)

Freak hand accidents does not mean injury prone.

wasn't just his hand last year. Groin was hurt too..

plus in 05 we all saw him pull up and grab his hamstring on a long run. he's had the same hamstring injury since 03' in college, where he injured it against tennessee.

im not saying he cant manage to heal up 100% and recover, but i mean, what other RB have you seen pull up on a long run and grab their hamstring? its obviously bothering him

You are a Ronnie hater. I knew it would eventually come out.

Yes, I have an issue with Ricky and his fans.
Ricky is unreliable and he keeps kicking his fans in the teeth, yet they keep coming back for more. I'm jealous. I wish he would teach me how to pimp like that.

He missed games due to the hand injury though - running backs take dings all the time, and usually are playing with some sort of injury (whether or not it goes reported). His injuries in 2005 had nothing to do with last year. Ricky will likely not be the starter for any reason other than Ronnie being out, and in the hopefully unlikely case that he is, then what?

How is hitting your hand in a collision or on a helmet and breaking it any mor of a "freak" accident than running untouched and tearing your achilles?

Everyone called LaVar Arrington injury prone in those threads and Jinior Seau injury prone when is a broken forarm or a torn ahillies not a "freak" type of injury?

I still think Ricky is the better back and if he starts out in camp with no setbacks he has as much or a better chance of winning the starting spot over Brown.

I also dont believe Brown starting "guarantees" him more carries than ricky.

I'd say which ever back gets more yards or is more effective will get the most carries.

I am NOT a ronnie hater... ronnie is an excellent back who plays behind one of the worst O-Lines in the league. (this might be one of the causes for his injuries....) considering he was tackled BEHIND the line of scrimmage more than any RB in the NFL last year.

you're just saying some nonsense instead of stating some facts and talking about it intelligently....

as much as i don't like to say it... ronnie brown does appear to be injury prone. in college, he was injured multiple times, in multiple different years, and missed many games. first year of the NFL, he is injured and misses games. second year of the NFL, he is injured and misses games....

HOW IS THAT NOT INJURY PRONE?!!? =)
