I don't know but he sure looks totally different than his 2002 season. He now looks like a bulkier, more muscular Warrick Dunn. But it added a totally new dimension to his running: he can hit the outside quick and is shifty as hell. I do miss watching him bulldoze safeties, like that game in Denver when Kenoy Kennedy made the mistake of getting in his way of the goalline. That Ricky was a true "between the tackles" "power back". Now he is like a hybrid of power and shiftiness and the only thing I see which bothers me is that he goes down easier. Before '05 I never saw a CB tackle him with relative ease. But a positive thing is that since his arms and chest aren't as bulky he seems to hold on to the ball better. Also when he runs up the middle he seems to squirt through the line and the D for atleast 4 yards when nothing seems to be gained and next thing you know it's 2nd and 5. I love it. But man I wish Ronnie was healthier to finish out his rookie campaign but I guess it was better to have him watch and learn from a selfless veteran than risk injury in 2 meaningless games.
Here's to Ricky being a Phin in 2006!
And here's to Ronnie being a Phin 4 life!
My projected stats for R&R in '06: Ronnie Brown 257 carries, 1,220 yds. 4.7 AVG. 10 rushing TDs-- 41 rec., 401 yds. 9.8 AVG. 5 receiving TDs
Ricky Williams 126 carries, 603 yds. 4.8 AVG. 6 rushing Tds-- 27 rec., 243 yds. 9.0 AVG. 2 receiving TDs
I love the offseason!
