We start the 2nd half with the ball and a 14 point lead. At this point our game plan is going perfectly. We have them right where we want them and all we need to do now is pound the rock, control the clock, and win this game. Instead.. for some reason Dan Henning forgets that we have Ronnie Brown & Ricky Williams. We should have ran it 80% of the time in the second half but instead we come out passing, ginn bobbles it and the saints get a pick 6. Well we still have a lead, no time to panic, just go back to the run game... NOOOO keep passing, bess fumbles (questionable fumble) .. and now the saints really have momentum... its ok we can still run it and win the game.. nope more passes and drops by our underachieving WR's. Play calling among other things lost us this game!! It made me sick watching that 2nd half. Sparano would have made better calls himself, I garuntee he would have been running the ball almost every down. Run the ball, play action.. its that simple.. this was a heartbreaking loss for myself, a lifetime Finz fan. Sparano & company need to have a long talk with Henning and get this **** under control. Wow I am pissed!! :tantrum::hsmash::badmood:

Please share some thoughts and feel free to vent.

And if anyone has the stats on how many times we ran the ball vs pass in the 2nd Half, PLEASE POST THEM!! thanks

I concur 1000x....

OMG the wildcat was stopped a few times so lets not line it up with williams and brown and run it out of the conventional I formation.

Did we ever attempt a play action pass the entire game??? I mean the run game is off the chart and you have a wideout in ginn that has speed to run a fly and you don't dial up a deep ball??

WTF!!! SERIOUSLY.....

We weren't going to win this game by going 3 and out. Our running game in general sucked in the 2nd half. Henning called a good game but the players didn't execute it.

I guess....if you mean dialing up pass after pass after pass from a basically rookie qb and abandon what works for us...

I loved the dive plays and short three yard out routes we were running down two scores with a minute to go... WTF was that???

As good a game as he called in the first half, he called a terrible game in the second.

we have the best running game in the NFL, we have the best running back tandem in the NFL, Ricky Williams had a great game today, for only 9 carries that is, I felt we got beat on the wildcat when Ronnie was in because the defense attacked it while hes waiting for holes to open up, but when Ricky's running the wildcat, he gets the snap and takes off, he is who we should have relied on more to win this game, but instead we put the game on the hands of Henne, and his recievers didn't cooperate. It really looked like, after the 1st half of course, the offense came out of the bye a step behind, they weren't ready, they started off great, we didn't stick to the game plan, and we suffered from it, great game by the defense, besides a few **** ups by the usuals, they did much better than expected against the NFLs hottest offense

Even when he did go to the wildcat he ran those god damn sweeps to the outside. We were having plenty of success pounding the rock up the middle, why get away from it?

I think Henning retires this year. Let Derek Lee take over and give Pennington the QB's Coach position.

When did we run the ball even twice in a series in the second half?? We didn't run the ball and go three & out at all so I have no idea what you are talking about. Learn from the saints, even though they got stuffed all first half with their run game, they stuck with it & were running great in the 2nd half. Even if we stick with the run and go 3 & out a couple times, we run the clock, and don't give up that pick 6 and the bess fumble, both were huge game changers. It also opens up the pass for the end of the game if we still needed to come back, especially using play action. Sorry man but you are completely wrong in this case, Henning has been good this season, but for one half of the game today his play calling was utterly unacceptable.

I completely agree man, NO is a more talented team than we are and we had a 14 point lead at half time. We should have continued to step on their throat and finish nailing their coffin shut. The play calling during the second half was questionable at best. You have got to love the potential of this team, I think we are one year away from being a dominant force in the NFL.

Agreed. This potential needs to be transformed into results.. not giving up on this season yet, but its going to take some extreme determination and heart from the entire team (coaches and all) to contend this year.

It looks like our OC Dan Henning has TOO much confidence in Henne for a game like this. Henne doesn't have a couple of star receivers to make a young QB look good while he's going through the growing pains of his first year as a starting QB.

We needed Henne to play a couple of bad teams like the Bucs, the Browns, the Titans, or the Raiders ... before the Saints. He could use a few games where he really airs it out a lot against those bad teams ... so he can get some more confidence, better timing, accuracy, etc. Oh well, can't do anything about this year's very tough schedule.

Well, now Henne knows how critical it is for the offense to put up LOTS of points in a shootout type game against teams like the Saints. He needs to know how come out with guns blazing like Marino did in a lot of games in the 4th quarter. Get the big pass plays just like Brees did today. That's what the good ones tend to do ... routinely.

... On the bright side ...

At least it's Jets week again.

If you've got hate in your heart, LET IT OUT!!!

**** those slimy-green-mother****ing-*******s!
