Rights to Ricky or $$$????

In regards to the poll, the only reason on earth a fan would rather have the money is so Ricky suffers....
That money has nothing to do with our salary cap, it pretty much goes in waynes pocket i assume....
If we hold his rights we can keep him outta football or trade him and get something to help th team in return.

Unless that 8.6 mill goes back in the salary cap or in the fans' hands, I'd rather keep Ricky's rights. No benefit in making rich Wayne slightly richer.

I'm not positive about it, but the NFL has a *huge* problem if bankruptcy means a player can choose his team. The next time we have a guy like Priest Holmes with a breakout season making $ (little money), he will have a huge incentive to file bankruptcy so he can get $$$$$ (big money). My guess is that at a minimum, Miami would have the chance to use the franchise tag on Ricky. I don't think Miami would choose to do that, but it would solve the bigger problem.

I agree. Sometimes, I wish that we could set this board up to deliver an electic shock whenever you start a new thread. I know I could take that if it meant that we didn't have 100x merge threads like this Ricky thing is destined to become... :shakeno:
