RIP Mercury Morris

RIP to a Legend and the Gatekeeper of Perfectville, it's staunchest and most vocal supporter, may the toasts go on until every member of that team joins him on the other side.

As for cause of death, he was 77, that is an age where a heart attacks, cancer or any number of things can get you, no guarantees when you have that much mileage.

RIP Merc. I remember being in 6th grade and he came in as a guest speaker to our school just after his stint in prison. He gave us the scared straight talk about drugs. He was open about his mistakes in life, how it humbled him, and how he had devoted his life to being a better man......and from all accounts he was. Thank you for the football memories, but also teaching us all to be better people.

Thanks for the post. RIP Mercury.

I knew Larry Little was really skilled at pulling out and leading sweeps, but there is one clip on there of Mercury being 20 yards downfield against the Colts and Larry is CATCHING UP to him to get another block. Damn, impressive.

Godspeed to him and condolences to his family. His interviews on the '72 Dolphins greatest game series were excellent. He had such a vibrant personality even in his elderly years.
Had a chance to meet him just last April during the Dolphin's 50th anniversary of the perfect team cruise. Great guy. Very protective of the perfect season. Sad to hear this. So many have passed. Go Dolphins and may Mercury rest in God's perfect peace.

Just saw this. I always enjoyed his passion for the game, his teammates, and their achievements. Heck of a football player, too.

Rest in peace.
