Everyone so nervous about who will start on the outside across from Stills if we move on from Wallace need to chill.

The answer is on the roster, his name's Rishard Mathews. In the few opportunities he had to be featured in our offense he thrived. Remember MNF against Tampa in 2013?

The kid is the next Jelani Jenkins, in that his playing time has been stiffled by higher priced vets, and now that he'll have a shot, he's going to turn some heads.

Mark my words, when the season starts, and Stills, Landry and Mathews are making plays, along w/ Tannehill slinging the rock, the league will take notice, I personally love the youth movement at WR (no divas just hungry players who can ball) The 3 of them all complement each other very nicely, add a vet minimum WR for depth, and draft one late, we'll be more than fine.

Couple that with the potential 1-2 punch at TE, our weapons are downright scary.

But for a no.2 SE option, he is tough, he's fast, has strong hands, and is a monster after the catch, in Rishard I trust:

Mathews is going to be our #3. We will be running a lot of 22 formation. 2 TE, 2WR. Cameron , Clay, stills, Landry.

Landry, Stills, Matthews, are 3 young, hungry, talented dudes who can grow with this team. I like it.

Money aside, how can you justify being pumped up about replacing 10 touchdowns with 3? If wallace put up stills numbers last year you would say thats no good.

Not that I'm endorsing Matthews as the second coming, but the simple logic of that is Rishard Matthews played significantly fewer snaps than Wallace did.

I don't know what to think of him...he is always on the team, but the front office is always looking to add more weapons ahead of him rather than saying "Well, we have Matthews, so we should be ok". I think he is alright, we really don't use him enough to know how good he really is. As of now, he is consistently a #4 option fighting to make the team.

This would be valid, but Philbin doesn't seem to like the guy for some reason. We all know how that plays out.

If Mathews were a starter on another team, your replacing 10 touchdowns with 3 arguement would be valid, but if you did advanced metrics at measured efficiency vs. usage rate and opportunity, I'd imagine Mathews would look a lot better to you.

Look I'm not saying Mathews is going to be a probowler, but I think he is going to be an above average play maker

Are you effing serious?!? Stills can't even hold my jock!

The problem with Matthews isn't his ability, it's that he can't learn a damn playbook for his life.

That's the only thing holding him back, but it's a big one.

He doesn't get it, no playbook, no play.

Ok, and where did you see this star shine before??? I've seen a few nice plays and that's it. I find it funny how a few people on this board swear, claim and make proclamations that he's the next best thing. Please people, show me some facts because otherwise he's shown nothing but the potential to be a 4th right now and the propensity to get yelled at a ton from THill and the coaching staff. I'm not comfortable going into the season at all with Matthews being our 3rd never mind our 2nd option. Good God!
