Rishard Matthews: I did not ask to be traded/released

Saw this tweet and thought i'd share. Definitely a good thing to hear since we all like Matthew's potential.

Let's get it straight. I did not ask for a trade. Nor did I ask to be released. So whatever these false articles are #MoveOn

Not surprising...Armando reported it. He loves to stir the pot at any cost...including falsely reporting stuff.

Is Rishard really any more believable than Armando? He certainly has more incentive to deny the story whether or not it's true than Armando would have to make it up.

i'm surprised Matthews could actually figure out how to use twitter. Dude's a rock.

I think truth is somewhere in between. Pretty much every beatwriter reported that after we drafted Landry, Matthews asked to be traded. So I think that part is true. But knowing Armando, it wouldn't shock me if he's using Matthews requesting a trade last year as news this year

As long as he is claiming he is okay with being here then I don't care

Are you sure about that? I think both are pretty unreliable.

Matthews should be seeing this as his first real opportunity to start or at least get major playing time. He should be excited...if he's not then we should cut his butt too.

i think we have a winner

Guys like Armando would of been fired long ago if he worked in other place outside of Florida.

Florida legit has the lowest standard of sports journalism I've ever seen in my life.

Matthews wants an opportunity to start and it looks like he will get that opportunity now that Hartline and Gibson are gone. With that being said the motive for him saying he wants a trade isnt there.

The time of events is what needs to be considered here. Matthews denied (whether it was true or not) based on Armando reporting it. The incentive to deny (or not deny) the story was driven by Armando reporting it in the first place

Armando would quickly become the top reporter for a respectable paper like the National Enquirer or the World News.

If Matthews asked to be traded why would he now deny it and become a liar in the eyes of the teams management, this is last years story with a new date by armando

well at least Matthews is denying it... sounding like he wants to stay and hopefully work for his job in Miami... its your opportunity now!!!
