..I dont understand why everyone is down on Rivers??? Weak arm huh?? I think that he was picked fourth for a reason...

C'mon fellas lets not pretend were better evaluators than NFL scouts.

We'd be lucky to have him next year.

My only problem with Rivers is he hasn't done jack in the NFL. If you could get him for something reasonable, he'd be worth a look, but SD will likely want a ransom for a mystery QB. Got to hand it to SD, though; they've milked the hell out of that #1 pick between what they've gotten out of NYG and what they'll likely get out of Rivers.

He's unproven but any rookie we may draft would be also, Rivers COULD come in and start from day one and gve us a chance to win, thats why I want him....If we draft a QB get ready for another year of Gus.

Disclaimer: I am no way shape or form on/or off the Rivers wagon. I'm actually pretty neutral.

Well each rookie QB is a "Mystery man" too... So does Rivers mechanics fit our system, that's the real question. You also need to take a few things into consideration.

1) Where do we pick

2) How much salary of Rivers salray do we take on? (I know it various when it comes to a trade)

3) Who all declares for the draft will also raise or lower Rivers Value

So there are a ton of things that have to be considered before everybody gets all "Rivers is our man" crazy.

I'd rather have Losman in this system than I would Rivers. I just can't see him succeeding here.

I have always been extremely high on Rivers; however after looking at our draft and free agent possibilities, there are better options; some of which may not even involve drafting a quarterback this year so we can adress other positions first.

I dont think Rivers fits the system that Saban and Linehan want to run. Leinart doesnt really fit it either. I think they will target Cutler- smart, big arm, mobile, and most of all from the SEC.

rivers has been in the nfl for a couple yrs tho and has played with nfl players so he would have a little bit of an advantage over a rookie qb coming in...just saying..thats all

This is no way intended to be a flame on you, but since when do the scouts know any better than the fans. Scouts had ryan Leaf and Peyton Manning rated 1.a. and 1.b.

It was so close, no one knew who was going to be better. Akili Smith was highly touted.

It's a crap shoot no matter how you slice it.
