Was trolling the san diego chargers site and found an interesting thread that was quoting the new york daily news article stating that the jets are in the hunt for Philip Rivers. They seem to be in worse shape (ie more desperate) than the fins when it comes to future qb prospects. Interestingly AJ smith is quoted as not having one call as to the availability of Rivers. The article does state it is unlikely to happen before the october 18 trade deadline as the price for Rivers would be to high. Not exactly Nfl gosepel quoting a new york rag but it is interesting that the price of rivers appears to be on the rise. There just is few if any old retread qbs for the jets to bring in. As evidenced by the bottom of the barrel find of testeverde as a qb. It makes the Rivers gamble much more interesting if the fins pass on him (assume if you will he even is on the blocks) and the jets land him. He turns out to be the qb everyone seems to think we will have to face him for many years to come. Cann't upload the story but is on Chargers.com if you want to read it.
