The Gaston Gazette's Steve Reed reports Chargers TEs coach Rob Chudzinski has accepted the Panthers' offer to take over as offensive coordinator.
Chudzinski joins DC Sean McDermott and special teams coach Brian Murphy in rounding out Ron Rivera's coaching staff. Chud gained league-wide acclaim with the Browns in 2007 when the offense skyrocketed to eighth in the NFL while Derek Anderson turned in the only good season of his career. He's helped generate the Chargers' impressive offensive gameplans the past two years. Chudzinski has shown a golden touch with tight ends, coaching Antonio Gates, Jeremy Shockey, Kellen Winslow, and Bubba Franks. Coach Ron Rivera has already made it clear that finding a stud tight end will be a priority this offseason. Jan. 17 - 5:40 pm et

Chud to Carolina

Seems like our signing of Daboll was likely because Chud was headed to Carolina. Much like how our extension of Sparano was because Harbaugh turned us down for SF...
 
I read he was torn between Carolina and SD so Miami was not in his plans.
 
sux for you guys. there was a time no one wanted to come to the jets. sux being a fan of the team no one any good wants to play or coach for.

Ross botched this entire thing... He created a lameduck scenario by flirting with Harbaugh. He should have made a clearcut decision. Now, with that scenario, no one wants to coach for a regime that might be gone in year. Job stability is worth something. Chud gets that in Carolina. At least 3 years... He doesnt get that here.
 
Who cares. We knew as much about this guy as the one we got. Nothing. Its not like he came from a powerhouse. Last time I checked the Bolts were full of talent and could hardly stay afloat in the AFC West.

why would anyone seriously want to come coach for the dolphins. they treat their ex great players like ****. they ask potential players if their mom are whores. they publicly try to replace their current coach and when no one wants to coach for them they keep him.....creating a lame duck status. i mean seriously your team is shooting itself in the foot big time. i almost feel bad for you guys because i know what it's like to root for a team that is considered a joke.
 
What was so great about Chudzinski? I dont know nuttin about the guy
 
The guy Miami just hired for OC...If he never calls another wildcat play, he’s an upgrade.

chudzinski chose Carolina over Phins

Now we know why we got Daboll. Chud chose Carolina. Makes sense as there is a new coach there and more job security than with our lame duck coaching staff. Daboll was probably plan Z (i.e. - the only guy that would take the job).

Oh well, doesn't matter. The idiot I am, I will still be watching every Sunday. Paying my $300 for the NFL package. I must be a real glutton for punishment.
