Robert Hunt Appreciation Thread

I said this in another thread, if Miami could pick up someone off the scrap heap that could pin down center, you could move William back to guard and help the entire line out.

unfortunately at this juncture scrap heap = crap heap. The center position is far too important to **** on.

Williams is playing at a high level. IMO, he is our center going forward. That is a critical spot, and it's easier to go get a guard. Eichenberg is struggling but he is a young player learning a new position. Let's see where is after the season. Young players improve.

I loved this kid after the funny play last year. I loved how he handled himself in the interviews. I love that a Guard became a national sensation for a week. I loved his athleticism on that play. We make fun of the big guys but cmon, he snagged a pass, juked a guy, ran two more over, stretched the ball over the goal line - point is he’s athletic as fawk! I love the way he plays

That's why the line was supposed to be fixed before the season started! Hunt was the only starter from last year who deserved to keep his job. They needed four new starters and failed to find them. Actually, they could have settled for keeping Deiter at Center and getting a new LT, LG, and RT. (Of course, since Deiter was still injured, they'd be back to needing four new guys). IMO, it makes no sense that a team with a history of poor o-line play gets a new Head Coach who needs a competent o-line to run his style of offense, but they load up on WRs, TEs, and RBs and then basically just get an injured Armstead and have Williams replace Deiter and think that will fix the o-line. Now, they're having problems with pass protection and run blocking, and Armstead is hurt again. Gee, who could have saw that coming? :bobdole:

I eichenburg is strugging as bad as it seems then maybe out of neccessity you give deiter the job and move williams to guard..

Well this tells us 2 things. Maybe Grier can draft lineman and maybe coaching matters. I'm very eager to see Ajax's progress when he returns from injury...

I came across this tweet and thought it be nice if Dolfans came together, to show some love for the big fella. He's really improved since his 1st year in the league.

I thought he played damn good at Right Tackle as a rookie?

but i also had no doubt he had Pro Bowl Guard ability, and would make it there in his career.
