Rod Wright article from last week..

Is he going to be on IR this year or are they hoping he might be able to get back into the game after the 8th week?
 
What a great attitude this kid has, I think he will be a great player for us in years to come.
 
Mack Brown sux. I'm glad he is gone from UNC the POS traitor. I don't beleive a word the snake says. He isn't even a good coach he just gets great players. The only reason they won was because Vince Young made his sh**** plays look good by taking off with it all the time. To the hot place with Brown and I wouldn't look for Wright to make much of an impact until he has some decent coaching which could take a while because he hasn't had any in 4 years.
 
Thanks, great read. This kid is very nice, intelligent, and I expect him to be a major contributor to our team starting in 2007. Hope he can actually play some downs for us this season, but feel he's really worth the wait to make sure he's physically OK for good.

Good read.

He has a good positive attitude.I had him on my short list last year before he decided to stay at Texas so I am very pleased that we were able to draft him with a 7th round pick even if it turns out that he sits out the year.Its a credit to Saban that Rod has not even mentioned the possibility of sitting out the year and making himself available for next years draft.

He has a reputation for lazy habits but I trust Saban will turn him around.
 
Let him spend a year on IR, getting healthy. DL really need their upper body strength.

:shakeno: So you don't expect much out of him because he was coached by Mack Brown, you hate him and you think he blows because he left UNC and now you have an agenda against Wright. By that logic you should hate Ricky too just because he went to Texas. It doesn't matter what college a player comes from as long as he is a Dolphin. You should support him for what he is now.

Anyways this kid has a good attitude, lets hope he will be good for us down the road, many people have said he could turn out to be the steal of the draft.
 
Great post man, The guy sounds real up beat with a good head on his shoulders. My hope is he rehabs well and is on the field ASAP.

Wright seemed like he has a good attitude and he is really looking foward to working with Saban when he is healthy and ready to go. If Holliday doesn't comeback next season, then Wright could be the guy to take his place.

Holliday will be back. But yeah, I'm loving this. Rod Wright has my vote of confidence.

Nah I didn't say I don't expect Wright to be good just that it may take a little while. Nothing against Wright or Texas at all I just think their coach sux and has never prepared players no matter how talented for the next level. Again I said I wouldn't expect much until he gets some real coaching not that I don't think he could be good player for us. Of course I may be blinded a little by hatred for Brown but other than Roy Williams most of that highly touted players before they go to Texas disappoints on the NFL level.
 
BTW I seen the link without reading it and thought it was Brown flapping his gums about something. Nice find and sorry for going off topic. He does sound like a good kid and I wish him and the rest of our youngsters the best.

Of course it was unfortunate to find out on draft day that my shoulder needed repair and then I ended up falling in the draft as a result. But going back in time, I wouldn't have done it any other way. I would sacrifice anything for Texas and do anything it took to get that ring.

Sure doesn't sound like a guy that takes plays off to me. From the draft mags and scouting reports I remember reading that alot about Wright. He sounds greatful and full of desire and he likes being in Miami. I would love this guy to turn out and be a guy that anchors the line for years to come.
