Rodrique Wright Interview

Good info from a guy who will be cut, they usually tell it how it is to a point of saying I am going to get cut lol. Nice find. Cherilus actually gives a really good 'mental" for him interview too.

Rod Wright is the guy everyone is forgetting about but will show up this year over guys like Holliday. In fact, I think he would make a great DE in the 3-4.

Agreed......Wright is going a be a very good DE in our 3-4 scheme.

I agree. He was the best defensive player in the 2005 national championship game and slippe din the draft due to injury concerns. I think the guy is a player and will prove to be an asset throughout the season!

I guess it is possible that he could get cut but I seriously doubt it. He was drafted in the 7th rd because we knew up front that he was injured and would miss the entire '06 season. Last year ('07) was basically his real rookie season since he was finally healthy. He contributed some but I do not think he was used correctly. This year I think that he will make a fine 3-4 DE for us.

I don't see Rod Wright getting cut so quickly. The guy was an excellent pass rushing DT at Texas and that should translate well as a 3-4 DE.

How soon we all forget Rodrique Wright at the end of the season was argueably our second best defensive player behind Jason Allen. He had 38 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 12 games. The potential is there, and he is only 23 years old, I definately think he makes the team this year and even challenges to be a starter.

Man, I want some of what he's smokin'.

he is a perfect fit at 3-4 DE. big body, will take up blockers and apply pressure, and can take abuse b/c if he gets hurt - so what! he is exactly what we are looking for in the d line.

I agree... I dont knwo how great he will be, but he definately did a good job with what he was given. He should improve and push for startign time in the near future...

Now Solia I am worried about.
