Thought I would post a somewhat realistic mock that would meet some of our key needs. Feel free to critique it and let me know what you think.

Round One - Shaq Thompson, LB, Washington

I like it. I think Shaq Thompson is one of the most unique talents in college football. Not sure if Kevin Coyle would be able to make use of his talents. I'd go with a 4-2-5 defense using Thompson as a hybrid safety/linebacker. I like that. Question the fit for Miami, though. Where would the Dolphins play him?

Agholor is kind of overshadowed by other receivers, but he is good. Like the Johnson pick in the third. Don't know anything about the DT you've mocked.

Seems to be a draft that covers a lot of Miami's needs.

Shaq is a fun player to root for, but he's really not a guy you draft in the 1st rnd IMO.

His highlights and playmaking ability is great. But he still has no position, and if you watch him at linebacker he gets really lost. I honestly think he's more of a safety if anything. As of right now I think he will have a very hard time getting on the field year 1, no matter where he plays.

If I want a linebacker I'm going to Benardrick, Dawson, Perryman, in that order.

As for Agholor I'm a big fan of his, but as other pointed out to me, he really just runs straight line routes. That won't fly with philbin, he likes his technicians.

I agree 100% and this coaching staff doesn't need another player that they wouldn't know what position to play him at.

In college football thats what you get a lot of though. I mean besides Amari Cooper did any of the other top WRs really run a much more complex route tree…because I don't think so. Agholor is VASTLY underrated. I think he's a steal at 47 but I have a sneaking suspicion he doesn't get there. Pretty much fits the offense to a T. Good long speed…but his burst and RAC is what makes him ideal in this offense…honestly he has acceleration similar to Landry except I think he's a 4.45 guy or so when it comes to long speed. Would be a fantastic complement opposite of Wallace (if he stays).

I think there's a good chance he gets there, but I agree that he's a good fit. Like Landry, he's super quick transitioning from catch to run. As you've said, he's faster than Landry. I can see him running in the low 4.5's, but I can also see him in the 4.4's. He plays stronger than his size, and he's not afraid to go over the middle. Whether or not I'd take him at 47 would depend on the other players available, but he's definitely in the mix.

Is Pharoah Brown coming out? He broke his leg and I thought he was returning to school. In the 7th he'd be a great pick, long, smooth, great hands.

agree to disagree, a lot of WRs get there route Game going in college just fine. A lot of the super athletic guys will sometimes keep it simple, because they can, I don't think that's the case with Agholor.

I like Agholor, like the way he runs and catches, like his aggressiveness. But his routes are severely lacking, which makes you think he probably has trouble at the other stuff. You have to realize the NFL is a different world than college, Those defensive coordinators and DBs will study you from to to bottom, If you don't know how to hit a NFL level route tree, You'll be out of the NFL In a few years unless you have Julio Jones level athletism.

i'll finally speak on this draft, because i thought people would hate me..... but i really dislike this draft as well:

not a fan of Shaq Thompson with such other pure talent out there, and definitely not Shaq Thompson in first round. Myself and others actually have him on our definite NO to draft too.

Nelson Agholor I have on my definite NO to draft as well.... you can read my thoughts on him in the 2015 WRs thread in the draft forum

Kevin Johnson I gotta look into more, as well as other CBS... by why him? and I also need to know what other CBs would be available that round.

I wouldnt mind Shead that round, but I'd rather get another guard earlier.... DT there are better prospects... and we basically dont get an ILB (our biggest need)or a WR at all??? I question that. Definitely I dont want a TE in the draft either (just my opinion there)

Yes he suffered a pretty gruesome injury but before the injury he was a good tight end a nice target for Mariota. I am not totally sure if he has recovered but sometimes an injury allows you to find a gem in the rough.

I completely agree. I thought the injury was keeping him in school another year. I loved him before and thought he was probably 3rd rd talent. Would be a terrific 7th regardless.
