My 2010 Mock:

1. Jerry Hughes, DE/OLB, TCU
2. Marshawn Gilyard, WR, Cincinatti
3. Dennis Pitta, TE, BYU
4. LaMarr Houston, DE, Texas
6. Josh Pinkard, S, USC
6. Dexter Davis, LB, ASU
7. Riley Cooper, WR, Florida
7. Jared Veldheer, OT, Hillsdale *Sleeper pick, 6'8 Beast

hmmm ... interesting. i take it your of the persuasion that we'll get an ILB in FA - i 'd rather do it in the first myself - but either way works i suppose. you are also assuming we'll get a #1 receiver in FA - b/c gilyard won't be ready right away. filling both those positions this off season is wishful thinking - albeit not impossible.

not too high on any of the trojan DB's - but for a 6th that's not so bad. like the davis pick though - good value. riley's playing baseball after the season too - so that pick needs to be changed - unless he's made an announcement in the last few days that i'm not aware of.

not the best - not the worst. i'd give it a C.

I like the Gilyard pick. If we went McClain in Rd 1 and Gilyard in Rd 2, that'd be pretty awesome.

riley cooper is a very intriguing prospect... i don't know what his value is on special teams, but he's a very interesting weapon at the WR position ...

Cooper has good hands....I know many people can't stand Florida wide receivers, and they say there hasn't been a good one since Cris Collinsworth, but being a 25th round pick by the Texas Rangers, doesn't mean he will automatically choose baseball. He was also chosen in the 2006 MLB draft and decided to go to college instead....I'd risk a 6th rounder on him.

Filling spots trough free agency is hard to determine, especially with the uncertainty about the CBA but I do think an ILB and WR will be in our free agency plans. I have seen Gilyard go anywhere from late 1st to early 3rd in mock drafts.....it will largely depend on his combine speed.,,,but these are my picks for right now. :hump:

Lamarr Houston went to Doherty High School here in Colorado Springs and can really move for a big man.....I think he was a running back when he was in high school and also a good basketball player.

Like I said above, Gilyard would be great. I've been really impressed with his body of work at Cincy this year.

Shay Hodge from Ole Miss is another guy I wouldn't mind looking at either.

I'd rather have Benn than Gilyard. I'm not crazy about Gilyard's size, but he does have wheels and he produces like crazy. I've had my eye on Hodge this year- I could see us taking him, but I've also seen him drop some easy balls this year. Interesting prospect nonetheless.

I love the Dexter Davis pick. Watching a lot of ASU football out here in AZ, I think he would be great making the transition to OLB and rushing the passer. He is pretty good against the run as well.

I'm an ASU alum so I try to watch all their games. I like Davis even though the Sun Devils had a pretty mediocre season. I know Rolando McClain is on everone's radar here at FH at the linebacker spot, but unless we start losing games he will be long gone before we pick. I'd rather win and hopefully make the playoffs.
