Ladies and Gentlemen,
Let's face the facts. This team is at least 2 years away from playing QUALITY football. I think everyting I was thinking in this regard was confirmed last night. My reasons for stating this are as follows:

1) QB - Feeley has some talent but the game hasn't slowed down for him yet. He still locks on to one reciever far too much. Ferotte is the better QB right now and for the near future. However, neither of these 2 guys are a long term answer. That fact is indisputable. Question: Do we draft a QB early in the first round in '06? Answer: It depends on where we draft and who's available, but we have to find someone somewhere. Of course, this adds 3 years to our rebuilding process as a young QB learns the in's and out's of the NFL (unless we draft another young Dan Marino).

2) RB's - We're actually OK here. Does Ricky stay past this year? I HIGHLY doubt it. But..Ronnie Brown has talent. Our FB's look fine as well.

3) OL - Are you kidding me? If we don't have the worst unit in the league, we're close. You're hearing it here first, Vernon Carey will be a BUST. He's WAY too slow for LT. Hudson Houck can't make chicken salad out of chicken s**t. We're going to need a few high round draft choices to help out here.

4) WR - Not bad last night. But which of these guys are gonna stick around for the next 2 - 3 years? D. Boston will look for more money elsewhere. We should be able to keep Chambers in a Fins uniform. Booker hates it in Miami. We need more talent there. Another high round pick should be spent here.

5) DL - JT is getting older, BUT he's still great. I'm actually encouraged about the interior. Manny Wright looked fat and lazy, however on the plays he actually tried to move, it was hard to block him. He's at least a year away from being effective (maybe 2). Vickerson and Shaw were invisible, but have shown flashes in Camp. We're going to need to blitz more this year to get pressure.

6) LB's - ZT was a great MLB, but there's no Tim Bowens to keep the centers or guards off of him now. This will be a year of decline for him. Not his fault. I like Crowder alot. Look for great things from him in 2 years. Spragen could be decent.

7) DB's - OUCH. 2 years away from being decent. I'm not sold on Travis Daniels. Could be a good nickel back. Sam Madison will continue to decline this year as QB's have more time to throw and pick on him. Need to draft highly here.

8) Kickers - Solid here. But Mare's salary is high and he HAS to prove he's worth it. We might need a kicker next year.

Before you start jumping all over me, telling me it was only 1 pre-season game....or we didn't game plan (neither did Chicago)... These are MY opinions. I repeat..OPINIONS!!

I do, however, feel that within 4 years Nick Saban will have us ready to compete for a title. We really need more YOUNG talent.

Tell me what you think.

I'm sorry that you had to type 34,000 words to make your point, so I'll just use a few.

We'll be a decent team. Sit back and enjoy the season for what it's worth. Let's not all get worked up over Preseason. It'll help save lives ;)

/kills self

The secondary is a major concern for me. Saban will have to use high picks to draft a stud corner and safety in the next couple of years. The O-line is a disaster too.

Vernon Carey actually wasn't too bad, he didn't get beat much and if he did, he dove or pushed the guy to the outside so that Frerotte or Feeley could get more time, or step up and throw the ball. It's the run blocking that was bad, and the secondary of course, but the d-line can't be giving the qb 20 seconds to throw the ball either.

Step away from the razor blades. PRESEASON. EVALUATE. NO GAMEPLANNING.

COMPLETELY NEW COACHES TOP TO BOTTOM WITH NEW SCHEMES.

and Saban gives nothing away.
I'm just saying let it play out before you crown us Super Bowl bound or for the 1st pick in the draft.

I can't wait for the real games to see how many people contradict themselves.

What do I think?

I think your naive to come to all those conclusions off the first pre-season game after only two weeks of camp.

Granted, were probably not in the serious running for the Lombardi but lets see how things look after week one against Denver.

Our starters outplayed their starters IMO.

We were winning at half after all. Our Qb's played some decent football, and our D played aggressive. Biggest need IMO right now is pass protection, WR's catching the balls they should, and more balls to Chambers on routes like those we threw to Boston. CC will be dangerous on those routes....

Actually we did keep the same Special Teams coach

Yes this is your OPINION

....but some opinions are based upon a weak foundation. To say the O-line completely sucked is a weak argument. My opinion is that the pass protection was actually pretty good.......the problem was the rbs or fbs picking up the blitz. I remeber seeing Lamar Gordon miss three straight blitzes in a a row. The one where Urlacher knocked Feelel on his butt was not cause of Carey, nor was it the interiors fault from not picking up the middle blitz, it was Gordon who was supposed to pick it up. iF you watch it again , you see Gordon looking to the right , actually standing being the center and rg completely missing the blitz. I think in general on pass protection or biggest problem was picking up the blitz, or at least the rbs picking it up. The run blocking was not as good though, but i think that comes with time.......when these guys start feeling good about themselves and learning how each other moves relative to their own position you will see them mesh and maul a lot better than last night. We ve got some big dudes. Oh and by the way, it is only the first preseason game. There was no gameplanning. I sure did love seeing our blitzes coming from all angles on d tough.

Those 2 statments right there pretty much sum up what you know about the Dolphins.

Try again.

Chambers has already signed a huge extension and Booker has already said he is over the trade.
