Ron "Sweet Feet" Brown will be used as a 3rd down back and as a slot reciever with Ricky (after suspension) being the number one guy. "Sweet Feet" has trouble finding holes and making instinctive decisions that Ricky does, but looks great receiving and in the open field. Until he becomes more accustomed to the faster NFL game, he will not be our #1 back.

i don't know where the hell you got sweet feet from but he will be our #1 for atleast the first 4 games. And if he performs well in the first 4, then he will be for the rest of the season.

Then whom, may I ask, is your starter for the first four games? Gordon? Morris? Come on ...

He was called Sweet Feet when he first came to Auburn because of all the juking he did and was not able to hit the holes quickly.

I think Ronnie is making huge strides. And with the backfield we have noew I can't see anyone else being the starting back for the first 4 games. I do agree that he will be secondary back when Ricky comes back and as he improves, next year they will be more evenly split (yes I believe Ricky will be here next year). I also think you'll see a heavy dose of both in the backfield.

Your ridiculous :shakeno:

no need to call him that now though, thats a problem that was corrected a long time ago... someone needs to correct it for lamar gordon

I think Saban will give him the starting job on opening day. When I say starting, I use it loosely. It will most likely be a rotation at RB with Brown / Morris until Ricky returns, and then the Brown / Williams combo should be put into effect....

If Brown can't take the initial contact, and looks timid for any reason, Morris will take over the starting position IMO. He's the only RB we have who has actually proven he can run behind a makeshift OL.....

PHINZ RULE!!!

I have to agree. I do not see Brown coming in and being a full-time starter. Mind you I think he will be given plenty of times to carry the rock, and may officially be the starter (player lined up at HB on the first play of the game). But I do not think he will receive the majority of the carries, until he can prove he is ready for the NFL game.

We shall see after sat's game, if Brown looks good, he will start, if he doesn't start, he will still get the most carries on opening day!

seriously know what your talking about before you post......ronnie will start the first four game, prove himself and get used to the system, he will start the 5th game due to ricky not being in the game so far in the season and then they will split time the rest of the year

Hey Oboy and Saban4Prez, hear this man out. Any rookie running back has the problems this man is talking about, and with a very talented veteran on hand it would be foolish to play the rookie, possibly injure the rookie or have him lose confidence. I truly believe the Dolphins got stuck with Ronnie, because of his physical attributes at #2. It was supposedly a no brainer. However Caddy is a much better instinctive runner, and so is Cedric Benson. Ronnie's game of running over defenders to make holes doesn't translate to the NFL, just ask Greg Jones FB not RB for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The same guy that didn't carry the ball once in the preseason game against the Dolphins, the same guy essentially behind supposedly less talented college backs Alexis and Wimbush. Vision is paramount for a RB, then the physical attributes come in.
