They all quit or declined a position with the Miami Dolphins..

This was all handwriting on the walls boys... and some of us (very few) saw it and mentioned it and we got publicly prosecuted for it..

The Miami Dolphins is not a well respected team - franchise - business... We truly are the joke of the NFL and all the pre-season predictions were true..

With that said, I will still love the team, support the team and make the team a part of my life.. however....

Wayne H needs to either sell the team and let someone like Marino buy it.. or dismiss Dave and Rick and start over from scratch.. as sad as it is to say.. since Shula left, the team has spiraled into the ground and the Cinnci game we crashed and burned..

I bet Ricky Williams is laffing his azz off right about now

Wayne is ok as an owner. I think though he has to clean house and start with a a respected football guy as President and let him hire a GM and coach and rebuild the franchise. I wonder if we could get Don Shula. That would be nice. Sigh. Someone needs to take over with a vision and a plan and a like minded energetic/innovative young coach.

Well I think this is a bit much i dont think were the laughing stock of the NFL, who cares what Ricky thinks(even if he can have a coherent thought through all that pot smoke), Marino well would he make a good owner?

well your first sentance says it all then thats exactly what this team needs is a "okay" owner that sure is better than a great owner like kraft or etc...

Marino would have to head a list of buyers. He would be the spokesman and put in a portion of cash. Like Kosar did in his bid to buy the Browns.

Could Marino really afford the team? I doubt he has that much cash.
He probably doesnt but he could lead a group of investors in buying the team.
Wayne may be a good business man but Ive heard that the FO isolates him from bad news and fans discontent and he tends to listen to the wrong people.

There is nothing wrong with Wayne as an owner. He sits back and does what an owner is supposed to do. Sign the checks and keep his nose out of the football side of things.

Eddie Jones is a good football man, but you have to wonder if his head is in this completely. He's tried to retire for what, 5 years now, and they keep talking him into staying. I thought this was what Marino was apprenticing for when he took that VP job initially, and I still feel that Marino will find himself as the head football man over the organization.

I wonder if there is miscommunication between Eddie and Wayne, or if there is miscommunication between Eddie and Rick (and his crew).

Wayne typically takes what Eddie Jones says to heart, but it is widely known that he went against Eddie when they hired Wannstedt. Eddie had a list of names that he was going to recommend, but Wayne wanted to keep the connection with Jimmy Johnson. So, he hired Dave.

Now, it may be time to end the relationship with the Jimmy Johnson era and start anew.

I'm really curious to see if Dan comes aboard and if he will try to talk Don Shula into making a short term return to the NFL.

In my opinion.. Dan is God and he can take what ever job he wishes..HC, GM, Pres of Operations or Owner...

However I believe Dan could/should be GM and have Shula only as an advisor. Could you imagine some kid coming out of College on a recruitment call from Don Shula and Dan Marino.. The boy would probably poop his pants..

Jeep I was with you on seeing the writing. We don't look so dumb after all do we?

I doubt if Ricky is laughing his *** off...I think he really wanted to play football this year....just not behind this offensive line. He's probably more disappointed than anyone on this board.

What does Marino know about being a GM? Negotiating contracts? College and Pro scouting? He would be far,far over his head as a GM,believe me. Also, I believe Eddie Jones is strictly on the business and marketing side of the office and has very little input on football operations. I believe Huzienga has been comfortable in the role of having a coach handle all the operations, which is all he knows from Shula and Johnson. I believe he was a little hasty in allowing Johnson to name Wannstedt as heir apparent without considering other candidates; especially since Shula was not afforded the same consideration when he stepped down.

Eddie Jones is not a football man, hes more on teh business side, thats why they thought Marino would fit.

Waynes problem is he knows squat about football and thinks he should be hiring the head coach. He should hire a top GM and let him in turn hire and fire the coach.

No one is going to hand out any prizes for the poor "prosecuted" fans.

As soon as you explain what good being negative all the time did for this team or it's fanbase, I might see the point in being a whiner, until then, I'll stick to trying to find things to uplift the fanbase and the team instead of dragging them down.
