Ronnie and Ricky need more touches!

There are a few obvious reasons as to why we lost today. Our defense was awful, and you can pick out the individuals Jason Allen, Ted Ginn, André Goodman as well. But one thing that extremely bugged me is the lack of carries Ronnie and Ricky got. We have one of the best rb tandems in the league and we barely used them. Sure our defense sucked but going into the fourth we still had a chance to win the game. Imagine if we had used them more and taken away the t.o.p. of the pats? completely different game if you ask me. The simple fact is that we are 6-0 when we have more t.o.p. than the other team. I also was disappointed that there was no new wrinkle in the wildcat. If they had no new plays out of that formation then it should barely have been used today, as if the pats wouldn't be ready for it. I would like to see more conventional running plays in the remainder of the season. Don't lose hope Dolphans there is still a chance we can make the playoffs and even if we don't this season will have been a success.

At the start of the season, everybody was saying that our running game was our strength. Turns out our weakness is actually our strength. My, oh my. How things change in a matter of months.

Exactly. The fact they was some success in the passing game shouldn't mean abandoning the running game. Becoming one dimensional makes it easy for opponents to defend and rush the passer. Outside of the 4 TD drives (one on a short field) the offense was 3 and out too often. Why not wear teams down and reap the benefits in the fourth quarter instead of leaving the defense on the short end of the TOP battle.

I didnt even see that. dont know whats up with it though. Its noone's (maybe Satele for getting handled but thats it) fault on the offense why we lost, 100% on the defense.

We needed to control the clock by lining up and playing smash mouth. When we got into a shootout, we plain and simple ran out of bullets first. It'll happen again until we realize ronnie and ricky need 30-40 carries a game. Hopefully Parcells will intervene and remind Sporano and Henning of that.

I'm not targeting him as one of the reasons we lost. You win as a team and you lose as a team period. But he didn't have a very good 4th quarter and many people on this site were complaining about him.

We needed to control the clock by lining up and playing smash mouth. When we got into a shootout, we plain and simple ran out of bullets first. It'll happen again until we realize ronnie and ricky need 30-40 carries a game. Hopefully Parcells will intervene and remind Sporano and Henning of that.

As much as I appreciate what he's done for our franchise this year, Chad Pennington is not going to beat anyone with is arm. Running games can be manufactured via personel, scheme, and play calling. THe fact is that we don't really even know if we're not a running team or not. The last time we lined up and played our base offense to run the ball was the San Diego Game. I say ditch the wildcat, stop shuffling the Oline, and finally line up and play some football.
