I think it's official. While brown had an excellent statistical game, he looked extremely unimpressive. The 2 big gains he had should easily have went for many more yards and the 2nd would have been a TD by any other top RB's in the league. On his biggest play that should have been a score it looked as if he was carrying a piano on his back. Jerome Bettis looked quicker than him. This is the guy that was supposed to have 4.3 speed?? He got chased down in the open field from behind.

I think Brown is a good back, but he absolutely lacks ANY explosiveness, which should be required from someone picked #2 overall in the draft. He looks more like a late first round pick to me and we are stuck with him and his huge contract for a long time. How sexy does Adrian Peterson look. That is an official stud. I would trade Brown for Peterson in a heartbeat, but it's an impossibility. He will continue to use his size and strength to have a decent yards per carry avg, but he will never be a gamechanger, and I think we can declare that now.

RB is the easiest position to transition to in the NFL and if you don't see it after 2 years, I wouldn't expect it at all. It's not like a QB. Brown officially has done nothing to impress me since we drafted him. He has yet to have a homerun carry and every chance he broke through in the open field in his career so far he has gotten chanced down from behind.

He is still a solid RB, though, just we way overpaid for him. Moroney looks to be a better back already.

Wow, just... I'm speechless.

Yep, there it is, the Maroney reference.

Did you ever stop and consider that Maroney is running behind possibly the best offensive line in football? They open holes for him big enough to drive trucks through.

Look at how Ronnie plays, not just his stats. The guy turns plays that would normally result in negative yardage into 3- or 4-yard gains.

Is that the bust in Canton they are making for him right now? :D

The HypnoToad laughs at your insolence! Ronnie is God! so sayeth the all powerful HypnoToad!

First of all, I hate the Patriots, but Maroney looks much more explosive. While I do agree he is running behind the worst line in the league, when he has had his chances in the open field, he can't come through. The oline has no effect on him have 0 explosiveness and getting chased down by LBs and DB's. Honestly, how many people would think Ricky would have put that big gain in the endzone? Did no one else realize, damn he looks really slow? That was the first thought that came to my mind, because at first I was excited it was going to be a score and a great run by Brown, who I desperately want to be one of the top backs in the league...but man was he slow.

Honestly, anyone think that?

Dont be an hyprocite and say hes a bust and then say hes good, bust aint good they just average.

Isnt a late first rounder considered a bust as well:rolleyes2

Wow he averaged 2.1 ypc vs us and ronnie averaged 2.3 vs pats,GJ:rolleyes:

ANYWAY IM NOT GONNA REPLY HOW I WANT CAUSE I WILL GET BANNED,THERE GOES MY POINT ACCROSS.

Seriously who ever doesnt think Ronnie is going to be great needs there head checked...HE GETS NO BLOCKING....LOOK AT EDGE IN ARIZONA HE CANT RUN CUZ HIS LINE SUX...WOW WHERE ELSE HAVE I SEEN THIS...O YEAH THE FINS!!!

I don't see why Brown is continued to be put on a pedistal by all dolfans...I was guilty of it too. He had great hype at the combine and we drafted him #2 overall. You would love to believe it, but I still have yet to be impressed by him. He has been solid, but way short of stellar. Hell Ricky was getting 200yds last year after losing a ton of weight and not playing for a year. The line is worse this year but again, what my point is WHERE IS THE EXPLOSIVENESS???

I'm not debating whether he sucks or not, because he clearly doesn't, but all of you are content with your #2 overall pick getting 50-75yds a game and not looking like he is someone who you can just hand it off to and take over a game?

We are all dolfans here, but it's funny how everyone is so quick to jump on chambers or culpepper (who is injured and plays behind the same line brown does), but brown's lack of production just gets put on everyone else. I just think it's weird. I'm looking for a homerun hitter with the #2 overall pick. I can pick up a big, strong guy (like brandon jacobs) to get me tough yards anywhere.

no one has offered me a quility argument in return as to why he is great? Only thing i hear back is that the oline sucks....Well, then culpepper should get 0 blame for his sorry play as well. Someone give some good rebutal with substance or something, please
